Your not mistaking. Season 4 photoshoot photos. Photoshop to get the look. To top it off some people are seriously thought that there were going to be a S8 photo shoot. This Season 8 poster proves that there isn't going to be one. |

Typical photo. It's better than the one I thought they were going to use. Nathan always looks very touched up in these. I think he is actually looking very good right now so maybe they could have backed off a bit on the photo shop. This will probably be the 20 ft building billboard on the street of Raleigh Studio.

I'm with you Teresa. It's a darn sight better than that other one where they aren't even facing each other. This will make a nice banner on the building and the bottom line is that they still make a gorgeous couple and we get a season 8. I'll take that. The days of ABC putting any extra effort into promoting the cast and show are long gone.

My editor e-mailed me this morning saying the Castle Season 8 poster was out and he wanted me to come up with something for a post. I figured, No problem. Sorry, no silver lining for me. And I'm a glass half full kind of girl This is my beloved Castle. Everyone fought for Season 8. And they give us a lame photoshopped poster from Season 4 photos.... ?? I understand Castle is a viable show for ABC. I get that. But this is shameful. No excuses, ABC, no excuses. |

Remember that surprise photo shoot we got for one of the magazines a few years back? The one where the cutest shots of them EVER happened.... Kate in the white shirt & fish net hose ...well, that took place after the season commenced, and I believe it was a surprise to most of us. I'm going to hold out hope that maybe we get something later. I know, the root of heartache is expectation, but going to keep my hope alive for a little bit. I really enjoy the photos that come from the photo shoots. Of the whole cast. Oh well... I am grateful for Season 8. |

Don't they usually do photo shoots just before the new season's filming starts? Since Stana wasn't back yet this may have been the easiest option to get a poster out. Hopefully they'll again find some time during filming to do a photo shoot. In the mean time I expect to see this poster replacing last season's on the wall of one of the buildings at Disney's Hollywood Studios next time I'm there. Last year's was up near the one for Scandal.

I honestly think the actor's time is better spent working on the show than doing photo shoots for publicity purposes. Especially since Stana (not to mention Nathan) is likely working her ass off to get caught up on the shooting schedule.
Not to mention, since when does any network do the full court press on publicity for a show that has an already fully established following? I'd be more worried if ABC did feel that the show needed the extra boost.
The full media blitz is mostly reserved for new shows or to give a boost to a show that hasn't quite found its audience yet. Photo shoots are expensive (they do still have to pay all of the actors for their time to do them) and mostly unnecessary given that we kinda do the publicity thing for them for free all summer on social media.
I think we need to get it out of our heads that we are somehow "owed" these things for watching the show and just be glad that there's a season 8 to talk about. To be honest, after all of the crap I've seen on social media this summer, I doubt the fandom deserves it if it was supposed to be some sort of reward.
I liked the poster, and had no idea it was done with season 4 images when I first saw it until people started complaining about it all over the internet and ruined the enjoyment of it for me.
