My friend got this great picture of this Great Horned Owl at the Sonoran Desert Museum. They have a demonstration of Raptors. This was the first bird they had at the demonstration. They asked people to be careful with taking pictures with their phones as the raptors might think it’s food. I was just taking mine out when this owl flew over my head. She was behind me and was able to snap this amazing shot. I figured it would make a nice puzzle. www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=258476db673b

What an incredible picture! That one should be submitted to Sierra Club or something like that for a wildlife calendar. And you were spot on in making it into a great puzzle. Thanks, Tycho!

I'm not good at them but they're fun. This one took me 13 minutes, but Mrs. G came in and spoke for some of them so I really don't know how long it took, but you won't see me at any jigsaw puzzle championships in Las Vegas!
Beautiful pix. It reminded Mrs G of walking in White's Woods in Litchfield, CT with our little dog and looking up to see a great horned owl watching the dog intently. Finally Mrs G picked up our dog and carried her as we walked as that owl followed us as we walked along the path!
They are strong! The Audubon Society in Litchfield had a Barred Owl and Great Horned Owl on display as neither could fly anymore. They were in separate cages but next to each other. The Barred Owl seemed to be frightened all the time and it was for a good reason, as they had to close the display one day as the Great Horned Owl broke through it's cage and into the cage with the Barred Owl and killed it.
Oh! I just recalled sitting on our porch in CT one evening when a silent huge bird glided past my house and into the woods. They truly are amazing creatures!
Thanks for the puzzle and memories T!

We have one in our neighborhood. I keep telling neighbors with small dogs not to let them out alone. I have feral cats. I have lost a few over the years. It could have been the owl or the bobcat or the coyotes. Dangerous place to let animals out. I have 2 cats who have never been outside except in a carrier.
