Happy Almost Valentine's Day, Everyone!
Did you watch the Superbowl last night, and if so, what did you think of the game? Although we aren't really into football, we still watched the game. We live between Philadelphia and NYC, but we're closer to NY and New Yorkers will never root for Philly, so I actually know more people who were rooting for KC. However, I was happy to see the Eagles in the Superbowl. Eagles fans are a whole other level of crazy, which is fun to watch from a distance.
My Mom got some of her test results back, but not all. From what we can tell, things are looking good, but we won't know for certain until her appointment with her oncologist on the 23rd.
But my daughter is thrilled because today is the last day she has to wear the heart monitor. The adhesive itches, so she's looking forward to taking it off tonight. Then we send it back and should get the results in about a week.
Anyone have plans for Valentine's Day? We've never really done very much, especially when it's mid-week.
Check in and let us know how your week is going?

I'm camping this week. The group went out for Italian yesterday but I stopped at Pizza Hut and got a small order of wings and stayed in my RV to watch the game on my phone. It was one of the best games in many years.I like a close game. The half time show was boring. I really don't know her songs so I didn't get into the music. Today we are expecting rain. As long as it doesn't snow I'm good. We have a heated building with a kitchen to have our meals, play games , and hang out. It's been windy but sunny until today.

After a second busy all-day effort of band uniforms modifications to fit new members, we skipped the game allowing us to keep up the pace in order to get sewing done in time. Dawn is really good at making adjustments and sewing. My job is 'seam opener and thread puller' so that Dawn can adjust/tailor and sew the uniform to fit each kid. Apparently, the band mothers and fathers always have other plans; so, this grandmother and grandfather team is essential. You have no idea how boring [but essential] hours of carefully removing old seams to allow tailoring can be. Of course, her task is really challenging for some 'unusually shaped' kids when the existing uniform size options are limited. Still, it is rewarding to see the kids proudly wearing uniforms that fit. And, the kids who are the band members really appreciate it. By the way, this high school band has won several state awards.

Big hugs to you and Dawn for stepping up and doing this! This is a skill not everyone has and I'm sure it is appreciated.

I've been a sewer most of my life and I KNOW just how tedious this kind of sewing is. Bless the two of you for this gift to the band kids! No Valentine's plans here but I do have my quilting buddies coming for lunch and an afternoon of MahJongg tomorrow. That's always a fun time!

We had a nice pre-Valentine evening. We invited my mother-in-law over and had our favorite cheddar burgers for dinner. We got her flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries, and she brought over a chocolate cake and other goodies. So, it was a very pleasant visit with some really delicious holiday desserts!

We had my daughter's family over for the super bowl. The kids weren't really interested but my husband and I were very into it. He was for Philly and I was for the Chiefs. Thought it was a great game. Didn't care that much for half time. Seems like most of Rihanna's songs sound the same even though I really like some of them.
We never really do anything for Valentine's Day. I made Coq Au Vin which was great and a heart shaped brownie cake. That was the extent. Nice and lowkey.
PTVJ, Hope your mom and daughter get good results.

I live on the Ohio River and the community gets all its water out of the Ohio. Even though the train derailment was 100s of miles away from us, it still concerns me what could be coming down the river. They say they are rigorously testing our water but how safe can they really keep it? We already live in a fairly high cancer area. We don't need more to worry about.

Hopefully, all these 'experts' will be correct and there are no emerging or recurring problems.

More prayers coming your way, PTVJ, for daughter and Mom that good news continues!! We have been staying busy. We keep saying that next week will slow down but it does not seem to happen. Our kids had a great vacation and returned safely. Back to games and meets for us. Our winter is ridiculous. Temps in the 30's and 40's. It looks like Spring out. Almost all our snow is gone(again) except for a few piles. I do not think we are going to have any kind of normal winter this year. Gee, would our politicians like to tell us again that we are not screwing up our planet's weather?? Have a happy and healthy week

geezer2008, It is 64 degrees here today. 64 in February! As I hate the cold, I am not complaining, but that is unheard of.

It was in the 70s 2 days ago. Today it won't even get to 40. I never know how to dress day to day!
