Apparently today is National Book Lovers Day. (I don’t understand how these things are decided but I love books so I’m not complaining.)
So tell me, what are you reading…
I’m in the middle of “Even This I Get to Experience” by Norman Lear. For those who don’t know, Normal Lear is in his 90s. He is a writer and producer who was around for the birth of television. He’s been a part of over 100 TV shows and created All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Mary Hartman, Sanford & Son, Good Times, Maude and more.
As a lover of TV history, I can’t get enough of this autobiography but it’s also fascinating just to hear about his life. The book goes from his childhood during the Great Depression (his father was basically a conman) to his being a pilot in WWII to his personal life and career in TV and film. It’s a really entertaining read.
OK, now it’s your turn. Are you reading anything good?

Another book lover here. Being retired, I have the time and opportunity to indulge. I am currently reading THE SPY by Clive Cussler and DEADLY HEAT by Castle. I'm rereading the Heat novels because I've enjoyed all of them and they are a great way to span the summer til S8. I'm on my 25th book of this year. I've caught up with the Stephanie Plum series by Evanovitch. I LOVE the wonderful humor of her stories. Lately, I've been reading Cussler and enjoy the Isaac Bell and Fargo series. Hiaasen, Hilderbrand, and Evans are other authors that I enjoyed this year. I have had a lifelong affair with books. I've always found them to be a wonderful adventure.

Currently in the middle of Golden Son by Pierce Brown. It's the second book in The Red Rising trilogy. So far so good. Prior to this trilogy, this summer I have also read Paper Towns, Trickster's Choice and its sequel Trickster's Queen, The Orphan Queen, Red Queen, Rook, Half Bad, An Ember in the Ashes, and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

I get free books from "Bookbud" everyday and have found a couple of new authors. I read the Belial Series of 6 books by R.D. Brady I read the Everlasting Duology by Richard Bard I am currently reading the previous series, that I should have read first, called the Brainrush Series of 3 books. I am half way thru book 2. I am going to try and read Frozen heat again. I only listened to the audio book last year while driving a 32 ft motorhome so I was not very focused on the book. ? What has been fun is contacting the authors of these series and getting responses back. How cool is that to be able to ask the author questions or make comments back and forth? New authors have an uphill battle getting their books out there. This is one way they are able to spread the word. I also read a few authors that I have read thru the years like a couple of Clive Cussler's books. I was doing some research this summer also on Native people who lived in the Newberry Caldera 9050 BCE. that took up a lot of my time.

I'm reading James Patterson with Howard Roughan, The Affair, very fast pace. I also like to read Lee Child's The Jack Reacher Series.
