Hi All, Sorry this is so late. My family spent the day at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met is one of my favorite museums but I haven't been there in about 10 years. So this was what I'd asked for for Christmas. We probably only saw a third of the museum. I was especially thrilled that my daughter enjoyed it so much and wants to go back so we can see all the things we missed. So my week has started off great. How is your week going? Please check in and let us know.

I have been camping this week. I started last Thursday going to Quartzite Arizona with my women’s group. We had more than 100 rigs dry camping. Fun but very cold. We had low 30’s and wind. I moved last Sat to an RVpark with full hookups which means I had electricity and water and a place to dump my tanks. This is my other camping group. We have a heated room that we can eat and have activities. The RV park had a fun jam session with at least 35 musicians and about 150 people listening. Went shopping at all of the booths today with vendors from all over the US. This is the place they all come in January as there are probably over a million people here in Jan. The art museum sounds amazing. I was there many years ago.

I'm tired of the rainy gray days, but since I know nathanfan1 has gotten more in snow than I've seen in rain, I should probably just keep my mouth shut and be grateful I'm not shoveling.

I did come home with a good cold. After home made chicken soup and 3 or 4 coldeze lozenges everyday I am feeling better today 😌

Appreciate the sympathy, PTVJ! We've now had just over 60 inches since it started back in October, and February and March are typically good for at least another foot or more! This week we're in the deep freeze with daytime highs right around zero and overnight in the teens below zero. Wind chills today and tomorrow in the -25 to -35 range. Enjoy your clouds and rain!

This weather is 'all messed up'! We have seen an average temperature of 45.1 degrees. That ranks as the third warmest January on record...behind 1950 and 1932. Of course, our son in Minnesota, my brother in Iowa, and my fishing buddy in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, are being snowed under and frozen daily! Changing the subject, the good news for Holmes Clan is that both of our sons have been selected for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. I have sets of my old LTC silver oak leaves that I wore ready for both of them. They have been wearing some of my old rank insignia during both of their Army service careers. This is such an amazing honor for me.
It is such sad news to learn that Annie Wersching [Dr. Kelly Nieman] has died. She certainly was a great actress and a primary character in 'Castle' saga.
