Happy New Year!

I can't tell you how happy I am that 2022 is over. Although some good came from it, it doesn't feel like it outweighed the negatives. I find myself very grateful that the year is over and am looking forward to the fresh start of a brand new year.

Today is our rescheduled Christmas dinner with my in-laws. We don't all get together very often so I'm really looking forward to this visit. Plus, everyone seems excited to meet our new kitten.

How can it be 2023 already? I remember all of the stress of the year 2000. Now it’s 23 years later🙀 I’m volunteering at the Musical Instrument Museum today. MIM.org if you want to check it out on the web. We are getting rain in the desert today. People look for things to do inside. We always get big attendance numbers when it rains. We have people from all over the world visiting during the holidays. I love chatting to people and hearing their tales.
I hope 2023 brings new light to our world.

2022 was terrible. My mother-in-law died right before Thanksgiving. We just got her settled into a nursing home a couple of months previous. I spent most of the year helping my brother deal with his many medical issues and finally convinced him to move into assisted living. Then he was hospitalized right before Christmas. I really didn't think he would make it to Christmas but somehow he's still with us and out of the hospital. I'm hoping 2023 will be kinder.
