Hi All,
Well, this will probably be a stressful week. The contractors are coming to start renovations on our bedroom. I had hoped they'd start in the den, but they want to get this done first. They'll be tearing out the carpet, taking down the drop ceiling and removing the damaged plaster ceiling above, putting in a new doorway, and moving a closet.
We'll be sleeping on the sectional sofa in the living room for a while. Not sure how long this will take, so I'm sure I'll be overjoyed to finally get my bedroom back.
Also, my favorite seafood restaurant just closed for good. It was right here in town and family-run. It had the best seafood I've possibly ever had. I'm very sad for the family. They were able to keep things going through Covid, but I know they've had a death and an illness in the family which may have added to their decision to close. I will miss them and their incredible lemon-butter salmon and fried calamari.
I hope your week is starting off better than mine. Check-in and let us know.

Christine, we hope your renovations are done in a reasonable amount of time. Good Luck!! We are having a slow week. Groceries tomorrow. Starting last Wednesday, we started a 10-week course on preserving our brain as we age. The first week was very interesting so we are looking forward to the rest of the course. Friday is the twin's 12th birthday. Looking forward to CAKE and presents for them. On the weekend, they will have parties with their friends. They are growing up. New movies coming to theaters this week. That's always exciting for us Hope you all have a great week!!

They're currently knocking down the old plaster ceiling in my bedroom. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that they're touching it, and it's mostly falling down.
So. Much. Dust!

Your new remodeled house will be so amazing when it is finished. Hope they are speedy but good. Hope a new seafood place opens up. Small business is long hard work. Most young people don’t want to work that hard. They want time to enjoy life and not work so many hours. There is a new lobster place here in Arizona called Angie’s Lobster. The owner started a new fast food drive thru called “Salad n go” a couple of years ago that is amazing. This is his newest venture. He bought a lobster pier in Maine so he could source his own lobster to ship toArizona. $9.99 for a lobster roll, fries, and a drink. Drive thru or walk up only. It’s pretty good butI just skip the roll.

Renovations continue... We uncovered some cool-looking metal grates in the floors that were used when this house had a coal furnace. As a kid, I remember a pile of coal that was still in the corner of my grandparent's basement. And it's amazing some of the old wallpaper that was just covered over. I wish I knew exactly how old some of this was.

Christine, I'm enjoying hearing about the things you're finding during the renovations. We did a remodel/room addition at our first house. No matter the precautions taken, the dust is so awful. Our contractor also told us that so many unexpected things can be revealed during the remodel.
This has been an uneventful week. It's nice to have one like that once in a while, lol. We did go to our oldest daughter's house last night for tacos and to watch the football game. The food was delicious and luckily we won the game. Another rainy weekend has been forecast so that means more weeds will need to be whacked. Yardwork never seems to end!
