Hi All,
I thought I'd get this thread started earlier since I'm catching an early flight in the morning. I'm going to Alabama with my Mom to visit her older sister, who is very sick.
I'll have my computer, so I'll post some updates along the way.
But in the meantime, please check-in and let us know how your week is going.

We are going to have a busy week. I'm going to go off on a Bike ride tomorrow. Supposed to be nice but will have thermals on beneath my clothes. Trees are starting to look beautiful in the countryside which is really enjoyable!! Starting Wednesday, we are taking a class for 10 weeks on Brain Health as we age and things we can do to help ourselves. It should be interesting. Thursday is Book Club and Friday Rikki has to have a bone density test.
Yesterday, we went to the movies and saw Amsterdam. It was very good and thought provoking. It's nice to see some good new movies coming out.
Sorry to hear about your Aunt, PTVJ. Hopefully, it will be a comfort for her to see you both.

Yard work today was cut-short when Dawn found hornets again. Her sting episode was not as serious as the 20-some stings previously ... 'only' six today. Fortunately, the stings were not as 'inconveniently located' as before. These hornets had burrowed close to roses this time. We have lots of roses available. Hornets are a real problem in this area from all we have heard and experienced. The exterminators were already scheduled for tomorrow doing their routine Fall check-up for the interior of our home. There are always some new insects around here. Additionally, having a clean house is not enough when insects are trying to find a place to live until Spring. Now, exterior hornet checking was added as soon as we got inside. They were making a more thorough exterior inspection because of a large and unusual insect population this Summer. Notwithstanding all this, we did get a lot of Fall yard preparation done before the newly discovered nesting area was found.

I’m off on my first RV camping trip of the season near Camp Verde. Weather was beautiful not too hot not too cold. I never had to run the heater and kept the windows open at night. We had a nice propane campfire at night and even sang around the campfire one night. Another lady brought her guitar for the sing-a-long. I was hosting so My stress level was high. I return home tomorrow. I am skipping the interstate and taking the more beautiful and less stressful mountain route home through Pine, Strawberry and Payson. Also the gas is cheaper in Payson than it is in Mesa so I will be filling up before I come down the mountain.

LOL, the twins bday is Oct. 21. We have been teasing our daughter and telling her that she is raising her parents. Pete is like me and Penny has traits of her Grandma. My wife is crafty and loves to decorate for holidays. Penny wants yarn for a present and a gift certificate from Steins Garden Center for Holiday "necessities". Our daughter is a good sport about it and lets her go up to a certain point. It is great fun to watch the goings on

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't been around all week. The trip to Alabama was a bit more hectic and drama filled than I expected. (My cousin's wife blew up at us because we're vaccinated for Covid!) But we got to visit with my Aunt, who is in a long-term care facility, and my uncle, so that was good.
But it's good to be home! And I hope you've all had a nice week.
I just wish there was time to relax or get some yard work done, as the weather looks perfect. But our contractors will be here Tuesday morning, and we need to get everything out of our bedroom, including everything out of the closets. By Monday, I'll likely be sleeping on the sofa in the living room until the majority of the work gets done.
Wish me luck!

I was volunteering for the AZ humane society yesterday at a car show at the swap meet. We had 7 puppies and 2 dogs a bit older. We only had 3 adopted. It is a way for me to get my puppy/dog fix without bringing one home. We had a big monsoon storm hit just after we got packed up. We must have had at least 2 inched of rain in about 10 minutes along with thunder, lightning and winds. It was a challenge driving home and avoiding washes and water running down the roads. I love the ran 😻 I was able to leave the door open last night as it got down into the 60’s. Nice to finally turn off the AC as our wonderful winter weather has arrived.
