Hi All, Not too much news to share so far this week. Mostly ran a lot of errands over the weekend. We've got Back to School night this week, and Picture Day was today. My daughter had her whole look planned because "this is the photo that ends up in the yearbook that everyone will see." I swear I never put that much thought into my school pictures. Although it's going to be in the high 80s the next few days, it's supposed to cool down considerably for the weekend, which is disappointing. We were really hoping to get one more beach day in as this is the last weekend they have lifeguards, but it may be too cool. I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the weather report changes for the better for Saturday. So, how is your week looking? Check-in and let us know.

The week has started out on a high note. We went to our younger daughter's house yesterday to have lunch and watch football. Our team ended up winning the game in overtime in the most unbelievable way (check out the highlights of the Cardinals/Raiders game). The demo and removal of the collapsed ramada happened early this morning. This afternoon the tech guy came and we have internet service again. The problem was a programming issue with their server. Whatever happens for the rest of the week can't be any better than how it started, lol.

We are having a quiet week. I took a motorcycle ride yesterday and enjoyed it. Rikki went to her craft group. Our weather is going to cool off starting tomorrow. I will have to dress warm for my Fall rides. Little Pete is in a Fall League so have been going to his games. We are going out to lunch with daughter tomorrow. I've been going to HS football games this Fall. One of the best teams in WI is nearby so plan on going to their game this week. This weekend, we plan on taking the twins to lunch and shopping. We enjoy getting them a couple items for school each year and they still enjoy going with us. We are going out of town for 3 days next week with friends and, on Friday, we have to go down to Milwaukee for a funeral. Have a nice week all

Well, I finally got some yard work done today. It's rained so much over the last week that it was difficult to fit it in, and then thanks to the rain, the weeds just grew faster.
So I mowed the lawn, pulled the weeds, trimmed the bushes in the front yard, then mowed the lawn and sprayed the weeds coming up through the stones of the patio in the back. There's a lot more to do back there, but I'm planning on using the hedge trimmer and the mini-chainsaw later in the week.
Wish me luck!

Good luck with all of your yard work going on. With all of our rain my free range grass by my driveway is back.I need to spray it. I love all of the rain that we have been getting this summer.
With the hurricane off shore in the east I don't think you are going to get a beach trip this weekend.
Took my 2 cats in for their yearly vet visit. They never cry in the RV but they know when we go to the vet. Poor babies cried all the way there and most of the way back. Presto, my beautiful black cat gained a pound. Must be the ice cream that he has discovered. Also I have these churo fish treats that he can lick. Guess I need to stop that.
I need to start loading up the RV as camping season starts in October.

Well, it's getting to be the time of year to put our patio furniture and summer decorations away. It's in the low 60's today so did the deed. it's always bittersweet to do as we will not get it out again for about 7 months.

I hear you, Geezer! I actually turned on the heat today! The temp never got out of the 50's and there was a howling cold wind to boot. Sounds like we're in for a long cool stretch but still little to no rain.
I've been enjoying my freshman grandson's football games thanks to the school's You Tube channel. It's a real nice service for people like me who can't get to games and for relatives too far away.

Yes! It has gotten much cooler. It was only 50 degrees when I walked Kate to the bus yesterday. I had to go around the house and close all the windows because I didn't want the heat to kick on yet.
So much for one last beach day. It's only 65 degrees, and with hurricane Fiona out at sea, there are serious riptide warnings. Perhaps sometime this fall, we'll just take the drive and go walk along the beach. I look forward to the day I have a dog that I can bring along for that.
I was planning on getting a lot of yard work done today, but it turns out the contractor will be back on Monday to take measurements and work up the final plans for the downstairs. So, I need to try and get as much stuff moved upstairs as I can and vacuum everything. Wish me luck!

I forgot to mention that we had a hailstorm on Tuesday night. It started with these loud CLUNKS on the roof, which turned out to be baseball size hailstones! Then it switched to a downpour of quarter size hail followed by a few more of the giant ones. It finally ended with some pea size hail. We have an inspector coming out on Monday to check our roof for damage. Thankfully, no windows were broken on the house and our vehicles were safe in the garage. Also, a check of the horses and cattle seemed to show that none of them got hit with those big ones. They could have seriously hurt the animals had they taken a direct hit.

Wow...really sorry to hear about your storm. Here's hoping that you were not damaged.
