Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing it here, PTVJ. in each case, I found myself agreeing with the decision to pull the episode.

Interesting that the Castle episode "Still" wasn't mentioned. It was pulled from airing in the U.S. on it's assigned date because of the Boston Marathon bombing. Though it was aired after "The Squab and the Quail" it was still pulled off the air for the same reason as the other episodes featured.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Very interesting article. TV writers sometimes push the envelope too far. I'm glad that there is some oversize by clearer heads. Good job on the article!

nathanfan1 and tycho657, there are some on the list I agree should have been pulled, others I don't and a couple I can't even imagine sitting through! shutterbug5269, I considered including "Still" but there are actually quite a few episodes of shows that were pulled and simply shown a week or two later due to all kinds of different current events. I tried to make this list more about episodes that were pulled for a few months or years or had some sort of controversy surrounding them.

Wow. Interesting read.
I did know about the reason why Buffy's "Earshot" was pulled. I had no idea that similar things happened in X-Files and Star Trek: TNG. Eerily enough I've seen both the episodes for those two shows.
There was also an episode of Bones that was pulled because of the Virginia Tech shooting. The networks did eventually air the episode (but it had been edited for continuity purposes) but the original version of the episode was later included I think on the next season to come out on DVD. (if I remember correctly)
