Hi All,
I hope your week is going well. I'm working on Day 9 of doing a daily yoga routine. I've had three surgeries in about three years, and the last one really left me very stiff. I used to do yoga quite often. Now there are lots of poses I can't even get close to, but I'm trying to take it one day at a time. Even with only having done it for one week, I'm already feeling a bit better, so I'll keep it going.
Renovations have been postponed once again. They were supposed to start on our bathroom today, but they haven't finished their previous job yet. They say they'll try and make it here by the end of the week, but if I had to guess, I'd say they won't be here until next Monday. (Fingers crossed!)
And it's now less than two weeks until the memorial/celebration of life party in honor of my Dad. I still have SO much to do to get everything together. So many people have yet to RSVP. And I'm trying to pull together photos to make displays. I'm headed to my Mom's tomorrow. Even though they were divorced for decades, she still has some of his Navy pictures and lots of pictures of me and my sister and Dad growing up. I've asked my sister and cousins for some photos they have, but no one has gotten back to me, which is frustrating, so I'll be making another round of phone calls this week.
I also just signed a contract to get a writing project done by the end of August. It's a big project, so wish me luck.
And I didn't get any yard work done last week! Someone is going tomorrow morning to give us an estimate on a fence for the backyard. I was hoping to get more ivy cut down before they came, but I'll probably have to settle for getting the lawn mowed today.
I think I need to go do some yoga now and remember to breathe!
Please check-in and let us know how your week is going.
I also take my latte with two pumps skinny vanilla but I usually have to get it myself.

Good luck on the writing project. Only 40 days until the '2022 Great Canada Fishing Adventure' begins. This will be seventeenth time my brother and I have done this. Lots of yard on-going project to complete first. Look out Sioux Lookout, Ontario - here they come again!
Hottest week this week for the summer. 110 or more all week. 115 yesterday so the pool was calling me twice. I go out every morning and swim and do exorcises. Yesterday I also did my wine and kindle afternoon. The power company started a program this summer where they kick up your temperature on your thermostat a couple of degrees to help with peak periods.you can kick the temp backdown anytime. I just go for the pool. I started going to my friends chiropractor a couple of weeks back. I had only gone one time years ago, to one and it was terrible. I love my new Dr. She is really helping my back. I hope things continue to improve. Well off for my morning swim…

Since my husband had the day off yesterday, the three of us went to see Top Gun. (With his work schedule, we don't get to see many movies together, either just the two of us or as a family.) It was just as wonderful as everyone said! I think it's actually better than the original. There aren't many sequels I'd say were worth a 30+ year wait, but this one was.

Guess what...we still do have poison ivy in our yard. I 'managed to find some' without even knowing it! This is a skill I would much rather not have. I really was being careful. Anyway, it is not too extensive although it is on both of my forearms...just not too much. I must be getting better at avoiding it. Nevertheless, Dawn was really pleased with how well I had cleared the area...always try to find the good aspect of everything.

Nice rain overnight. My citrus trees really needed the water. I am so thankful we don't have poison plants here. That sounds very unpleasant. Have fun on your fishing trip Larry.
I thought I was getting a cold over the weekend. Then came a bad sore throat. My husband's head was plugged up Monday and he was achy. We opened one of our test kits Tuesday morning and sure enough we both tested positive for covid. Luckily we'd been vaccinated and had a booster or this could be a lot worse. We never lost a sense of taste or smell. It's hard to sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. We're both improving a little each day. One of our daughters is going to get us a few groceries today after her work. There's really nothing we can do other than rest and drink lots of water. One bright spot for me is season 4 of my favorite Netflix show is being released starting next week on the 20th. Can't wait, lol.

DrvrTrnr, just curious. Which Netflix show is it. And I hope you and your husband recover quickly!
This morning, our town had its monthly free bulk pickup. You leave large items you want to be disposed of out front, and they come around and take it (within certain rules.) We're one of the few towns that does it for free in this area.
What's interesting is that most people put things out the day before, and then that evening, you'll see folks driving around checking out all the free stuff. It's sort of like a monthly town-wide yardsale, but everything is free.
I was very happy when two women stopped and put our old dresser with mirror into their SUV. The dresser was a bit beaten up, and we have no use or space for it, but I'm thrilled someone else was willing to take it. Someone even put our old lawnmower in the back of their pickup truck. I love that our strange version of bulk pickup actually ends up keeping things out of landfills!

Virgin River is my favorite Netflix show. It stars Alexandra Breckenridge (Sophie on This Is Us), Martin Henderson (a Grey's Anatomy alum), Tim Matheson, and Annette O'Toole. It's based on a book series (21 books!), so there could be many seasons (already renewed for season 5). I think there are several on this board who would enjoy this show as much as I do.
Christine, we have bulk garbage pick-up 4 times a year here. People do drive around and pick through the stuff by the curb, lol. I bet a lot of it ends up at a swap meet.

DrvrTmr, I've read the first 6 Virgin River books and have really loved them all. Unfortunately, I don't have Netflix so I haven't seen any of the series, but I have watched youtube videos with clips from the show. I think the 2 leads are fantastic and have marvelous chemistry! I hope to eventually watch it all!
DrvrTmr, our area has seen a big increase in cases. I know of at least 6 people who have gotten covid in the last 2 weeks. You said you have neighborhood pick up like Christine does? I have never seen that here. When we lived in South Bend, IN we had that every year. I loved it. I have been trying to clean out stuff from my house and garage that I don't use anymore. I did finally sell my 9ft boat and motor. I'm still trying to sell my 170 bottle wine fridge.

nathanfan1, I especially had you in mind when talking about Virgin River. Good to know you've actually read some of the books and loved them all. Jack was shot at the end of season 2. I'm hoping we find out who did it this season.
tycho657, the City of Phoenix prints the bulk garbage pick-up schedule once a year and puts it in with the water bill. It's part of our regular trash cost. The city is divided into several zones. We have one week to put stuff out and it is picked up the following week. Yard trimmings can't be longer than 4ft and loose stuff needs to be bagged.
My husband and I are feeli8ng much better today. His sister brought us homemade chicken noodle soup today (she makes the noodles, too!) and some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. What a feast, lol.
