Hi All,
Sorry I forgot to post earlier, but it's been a busy day. First, we went to look at more refrigerators. There are some great sales! Unfortunately, we need to get it up a flight of stairs that are only 28 inches wide, and most of what is on sale are wider than that. And then there are lots of other models that are back-ordered until September to November! It's really frustrating, but I hope we choose one soon.
Then we went to my Mom's for the 4th of July holiday. There was a community cookout which was very nice, and my daughter had a lot of fun swimming in the pool. When we drove home, my husband opened the moon roof on his Jeep. Unfortunately, when we got home, it wouldn't close! It sounds like something is jammed, but we couldn't figure out what, so after an hour of trying, we broke out the cardboard, plastic bags, and tape because we do not have a garage. Thankfully, it's not supposed to rain tonight, but I'm sure if we left it open, we'd wake up to a family of squirrels, birds, or cats living in there.
Hopefully, the mechanic can take a look at it tomorrow because we have thunderstorms fairly regularly so this needs to get fixed soon.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Check-in and let us know how your week is going.

Christine, maybe the delivery guys could take the doors off the fridge and turn it sideways to get it up the stairs? Our neighbor had to take their front door off the hinges to get a new fridge into the house.
We've had a quiet weekend. My husband and I went out for breakfast yesterday. I cooked dinner last night for our daughter and husband. Then we had a game of cards. There weren't as many firecrackers set off in our neighborhood tonight as usual. As dry as it is, it's still legal to have certain firecrackers in Phoenix!
This week looks to be hot and muggy with storms returning later in the week. Hope everyone had a nice 4th.

I have been watching Wimbledon. So many new young players. Lots of young Americans playing. They had a nice recognition of champions from the past as they celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the tournament. Martina Navratilova won more than any man or woman. She was supposed to be the final previous champion to be introduced but she tested positive for Covid that day so she couldn’t come. They had a few players who had to cancel as they tested positive. Presto was in my lap wanting love and protection from the loud sounds on the 4th. Hope everyone has a safe 4th. I am thankful for my garage. Not fair to be able to enjoy your moonroof and then have it get stuck 🙀 I’m lovin my pool. With monsoon clouds many mornings I get extra shade time to swim and exercise. My black outside cat has been missing now for about a month. I fear something got to him. He was my most consistent wild cat to come daily and usually hang out. His brother Sammy and the new one, Blue still come every morning. Yesterday the 2 sister’s showed up in the afternoon.

What a week! We've had internet problems, so I haven't been able to post much. (Our neighbor had problems too. The techs came out and worked on something in the street, so I'm hoping it's fixed.) We haven't bought the refrigerator yet. The sale ends July 13th. DrvrTrnr, the fridge is still about half an inch too wide with the doors off, but that's only at the post of the stairway railing. I'm thinking about trying to make it work because the sale has this version for $600 less than the narrower version, which isn't on sale! Anyway, we keep going back and forth on this, but we'll have to make a decision soon. We managed to get the moonroof closed. There's a way to do it manually, but we had to run to the hardware store to get the right tool. Now that it's closed, my husband can take the roof panel off and get a look at what's wrong, but we've been so busy, or it's rained, that he hasn't had the chance to do that yet. On Wednesday, we went to the city and saw the Broadway show, Come From Away. I've wanted to see it for years, and it's closing this fall. It was wonderful! To get there, we took the PATH train. We already had a Metro card. Unfortunately, the machine used to refill it charged us but didn't put the money on the card! Thankfully, an attendant was there and let us through the turnstile and gave us the paperwork we need to fill out to get our money back. Yesterday, I had a project I had to get done and an interview with the actor who plays EJ on Days of Our Lives. And today is my husband's birthday, so I have to get the ice cream cake for later, and food for a special dinner. But it's been such a busy week that I feel like I need a nap!

Thanks, geezer2008. The birthday went well. My husband just wanted a quiet day at home with his favorite cajun cheddar burger and ice cream cake. So that was fairly easy. I just found out that the next phase of our renovations which was supposed to start tomorrow, is being pushed to the end of the week because they haven't finished their current project yet. Sigh. As much as I'm not looking forward to everything get ripped apart, I also just want it to get done! Today we've got a bunch of chores and paperwork to get through. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Glad the birthday went well ☺️. I sold my boat and motor to a man and his young son. I am so pleased to know the boat will be used again. Now to sell my 170 bottle wine fridge... 110 this week. My morning swims will be wonderful as the pool should get up to 90. I know I'm crazy but I love summers here 😻
