Hi All, I hope your new week is starting off well. I spent my weekend cutting down the ivy on one large wall in my backyard. Cutting it down with the little chainsaw is fun. Cleaning it up, not so much. There's still more to be done. The ivy has overgrown all of the other plants in our small garden. It's just out of control and cutting it back seems to be the only option, especially if we want a new fence put in this summer. Also, Kate and I finally finished up Downton Abbey and were able to see the movie in theaters this weekend. It was wonderful, even if the ending did make me cry. I fear that we're going to be in Downton Abbey withdrawals since we've binge-watch the entire series over the last month. But it has inspired us to plan for a trip to the UK in the next couple of years. Highclere Castle here we come! So please check-in and let us know how your week is going...

Well, I got up around 6:30 am this morning to make two batches of cookies for my daughter to take to one of her end-of-the-year school events. I was fine at the time, but now I'm so tired. The fact that it's so warm probably isn't helping. Did I mention that it's a 100+-year-old house, so we need to get some electrical issues worked out? There aren't a lot of grounded outlets, which makes plugging in a window air conditioner a bit of a challenge. Hopefully, we'll have it all worked out sometime soon. In the meantime, the fan is on and I could use a nap.

I went thru my pantry getting rid of expired items.3 garbage bags later...things are looking better. Now to sell my 10ft Livingston boat & electric motor and my 120 bottle wine fridge. I just don't want to sell it on line. I keep asking people I know if they know anyone who might be interested. I love ❤️ my pool. I use it at least once a day sometimes twice.

Began in yard at 0600 and quit at 0815. Currently the temperature is 89.2 and heat index 98.4! I have had enough yard work for today and maybe for tomorrow also, I hope!

larryholmes, we've been up around 90 degrees most of the week too. I'm not very useful in the early mornings, so when I had to mow the lawn this week I did it at sunset. At least that made it a little more tolerable. But there are two more bushes in the front yard that need to go, some weeds that need to be pulled and I just got some mulch to put down. The problem is, my front yard gets full sun most of the day, so I'm not feeling very motivated to get out there and get it done.

I feel for people who live where there is humidity. As long as I drink water I’m good. Take care the heat is hitting many parts of our country this week.

You should try Facebook Marketplace to sell some of your things. That's pretty big around here.

It was only about 70 degrees today and breezy, so I changed my plans and decided to get some yard work done. I pulled all the weeds in the front yard, put mulch around the dogwood tree, and along the wall where I've planted two small rose bushes and some petunias. Then I took out the dying azalea bush and pruned back the overgrown rose bush in front of the porch.
All in all, it was a productive day, and I didn't roast in the heat!
