I agree, Tycho. It's a nice nod to the loyal fans like us that still cherish most of that journey.

When he was doing Castle I recall Nathan comparing it with Firefly and Castle seeming to come up short in his mind. However, I think that after some time has passed, especially with the Rookie doing so well, Nathan has come to think of Castle the way he thought of Firefly.
Does that make sense? I'm not sure it's coming out right, but posting this photo seems to me that he is fondly thinking of his years with Castle the way he used to think of Firefly.
Hmmm, and that last sentence seems redundant. Ah! That's why!! I haven't had my morning tea yet!!!

You are making sense! Time always gives us a different perspective on things. I think Nathan loved Firefly because it was his first big lead role. And the fact that it only lasted the equivalent of half a season means there wasn't much time for the behind-the-scenes drama and problems that will likely come the longer a show continues. I'm sure the good times on Castle are probably a little easier to see now that it's been a few years, allowing the drama of how it ended to fade a bit. And Nathan does appear to be truly happy on The Rookie. Now, RG, go get your tea!
