Happy Valentine's Day! My husband has to work, but we've never done a lot for Valentine's Day. My daughter and I went to visit my Mom and brought her flowers and a strawberry shortcake on Saturday. I do have a couple of small gifts for my daughter which I'll give to her when she gets out of school, but that's about it. My daughter and her friends finally had their Secret Santa party this weekend. It was supposed to be the week before Christmas but it's been canceled several times because someone in the group had Covid. I hope the fact that everyone is now healthy means we're coming out of this latest surge. We got about an inch of snow yesterday. It's all of 16 degrees out now but it's supposed to go back up to 50 degrees later in the week. I've got my fingers crossed for an early spring! So how is your week looking? Check-in and let us know.

I got together with 4 other widows for an afternoon of drinks and eats. Nice day to sit outside as it was 80 here in the afternoon.
Still working on cleaning and getting rid of stuff I don’t need and don’t have anyone who would want it.
Had all 5 of my wild cat family show up this morning. We had a little rain this morning with a drop into the low 60’s today.

I live in a 100+-year-old house. We had a new toilet installed in the upstairs bathroom. I didn't realize that toilets had the manufacture date stamped inside them. This toilet was made in 1963! I guess close to 60 years is a pretty good run. Our plumber said it was the second oldest he's seen. The oldest was from 1959. But one that old was probably using about 7 gallons per flush whereas the new ones use a little more than a gallon. Maybe once everything is updated my water bill will go down.

It's been a very mild winter for us in Green Bay. No blizzards and mild temps for northern Wisconsin. It's just been strange, LOL. We've been fine and are looking forward to Spring. We've been on a movie tear recently. We've seen Licorice Pizza, Spiderman, and Death On The Nile in the last 2 weeks. They are finally putting new movies out regularly again. There are 2 more coming out this week which we will go see. It's been quiet around here as our kids and grandkids are in Florida at Disney. They are loving it. Being in our late 70's, we are still avoiding crowds and such. We are getting out and about more but just doing it at less crowded times. Because of masking and distancing, we have not had so much as a sniffle since March of 2020.

geezer2008, did you enjoy Death on the Nile? I'm thinking about trying to go see it soon.

My brother still lives in the house that my parents built in 1962. All bathroom fixtures are the same which I don't find that unusual, but he's still using the original refrigerator and stove and they work perfectly! Things were built to last back then.

You should see a big difference in your water bill. We were amazed at how much we saved on our bill after having a new toilet installed and when the '20 minute shower' daughter moved out, lol. What we pay for water is determined on our usage for Jan, Feb, and Mar. Luckily we have desert landscaping so we don't have anything to water. We do have to put the hose in the pool every once in a while.

We put in a solar water heater at least 10 years ago. That helped with the electric bill. Niw I have solar panels on my roof for the whole house. I still pay about $60 a month for power from the local power company. This will be my 1st summer using solar. I hope the bills stay low.

That's about the time I go knock on the bathroom door and tell her to finish up and stop wasting so much water! It's usually another 10 minutes before I hear the water turn off.

We liked Death on the Nile a lot and recommend it.
We saw Uncharted last Friday. Great escapism.
