Well, this week of 2022 has hit the ground running.
Our apartment renovation was supposed to start next Monday...only my contractor told me this morning that he and another person on his crew have Covid. So obviously things will be postponed; we just don't know how long. The upside is that I don't have to go at a break-neck pace to get everything done this week. But hopefully, everyone recovers well and things will move forward soon.
Also, three people in my daughter's best friend's family are sick with Covid. (Flu-like symptoms, bad congestion and sore throats, extreme fatigue.) The mom is a nurse and she found something interesting. She bought a whole case of box tests, so when they came down with symptoms, she tested the whole family but only her youngest came back positive.
She found that odd as she and her son were showing obvious symptoms. She had heard people at the hospital talking about how the box tests can be less accurate with omicron, especially with people who have been vaccinated, but they were more accurate if you did a swab of the back of your throat instead of your nasal passages. She tried it that way, and sure enough, both tests immediately came back with positive results. The theory is that if you're vaccinated, it's taking this form of the virus longer to reach your nasal passages.
The above is informal research, so take that for what it is. I just thought I'd share.
And I hope you all have a safe and healthy week. Please check-in and let us know.

Spent a lovely relaxing day on the river with a couple of friends. 70's, sun, and some wind at our backs. We saw 2 groups of the wild horses. I really needed a quiet day with nature. I love these two ladies as they are happy to float down the river with little conversation. I could take in the sounds of nature and relax.
Covid has hit all over. I called my RV repair guy. His whole family has covid but everyone has been vaccinated so they have the cold and flu symptoms. Glad you have some extra time to get ready for the renovations.

We are prepared for snow and icing here in Winchester. Just now seeing few flurries that are projected to be at least six inches deep by midnight. The only outside trips will be with the dogs until tomorrow.
UPDATE> One inch in less than one hour now with increasing fall-rate!
