Happy New Year Everyone! Here's to getting the happy, healthy 2022 we all deserve.

Tonight, my husband is stuck working. My daughter is sleeping over at her best friend's. I'm home and enjoying every quiet moment of it. I got takeout for dinner (seafood that's too expensive to order for the family, but I can cover if it's just me), and gotten to watch whatever I want on TV. Surprisingly, I might even still be up at midnight.

And we signed up for HBO Max just so we can watch the Harry Potter reunion special tomorrow (New Year's Day.)

So what are you up to this New Year's Eve/Day?

Two hours until the new year. I hope I can stay awake until then. Several people in the neighborhood have been setting off fireworks. The biggest ones are yet to come. My husband and I had a little sparkling wine left over from Christmas. It was just enough to toast in the new year. I'm making chili tomorrow and the kids will come over for dinner. The temperature will be dropping tomorrow night. We have a fireplace, but unfortunately, tomorrow is a no burn day. At least the chili will warm us up.

The new year arrived without any help from me. I was sound asleep before midnight. Badly needed rain expected all of today.

I like living in the west. When they have the ball drop in NYC at 10 I'm ready to go to bed. May 2022 be a better year for all.
