We've got less than two weeks to go until Christmas! Yikes! On the upside, all of my Christmas cards are done and all of my presents have been ordered. We just bought a Christmas tree last night, so I'm hoping to get it up shortly. We haven't started on any Christmas cookies yet but I hope to get a jump on it this week as some can be frozen. The closing on my Mom and step-father's new home is tomorrow. It's making the holidays even more hectic than usual. And my sister and niece arrive later this week. Our town had a Holiday Street Fair this weekend. It was fun. Vendors, food trucks, pictures with Santa, Carolers, etc. We bought some hand-made ornaments brought home some dinner. I hope you're all having a good week. Check-in and let us know.

Time to start my winter clean up. I will tackle one room per free day from now until the end of the year. Also cleaning out my closet. I put all of my hangers backwards on the rack. After a year if I have not worn the item I consider giving it away.

Teresa, winter clean up sounds like a good idea. We might have to start in the garage because there are lots of boxes filled with things I kept from my sister's house after it sold.
My husband's new iPad came Sunday. There will be a learning curve involved due to all the upgrades made during the last 8 years (he went from the 2nd generation to the 9th). Luckily our kids have Apple products and can help him along the way.
We had our kids over for dinner and the football game last night. Dinner was good, the game not so much. We have stockings hung on the fireplace, including one for each dog. At one point, our younger daughter turned and asked me if there are treats in the dogs' stockings. Apparently one of her beagles had his front paws on the hearth, nose in the air sniffing, lol. I didn't have to answer her question. Of course the kids had to feel their own stockings after that.
We're expecting another rainy, cold night with high winds. The higher elevations around Flagstaff (7000') are expecting snow and wind gusts of 60+ mph. The skiers will love it after the storm moves on. Hope everyone has a good week.

We went to a Princeton University Women's basketball game last night. The last time we attended a game was a couple of weeks before Covid shut everything down in 2020.
It was a close game. Princeton won over Buffalo 79 to 77. Vaccines and masks are required for all indoor events at the University. They had their regular snack bar closed, but had a cafe area at one end of the gym. No food or drink was allowed outside of that area and tables were 10 feet apart, so we had our snacks first and then took our seats.
It was a lot of fun. At half-time, they had a Teddy Bear toss. People were encouraged to bring a new or like-new stuffed animal, which we did. Then they had us throw them onto the court to see who could get it closest to the middle. All of the stuffed animals were then collected and delivered to a children's group foster home.
When the game went into overtime and Buffalo had the opportunity to take two foul shots, the Princeton band and all of the Princeton students in the stands jumped out of their seats and ran to the bleachers behind the basket. They sang the theme to Spongebob Squarepants and made quite a racket trying to distract the Buffalo player from making her shots. She made one and missed one.
I'm not the biggest basketball fan (My Dad and my daughter are the fans) but I do enjoy going to these games when we have the chance. Hopefully, we'll get to do it again after the holiday.

What a week! And it's only Wednesday. We were feeling so lucky about our low Covid rates here in NJ, until now. Between omicron and the surge after the Thanksgiving holiday, they moved us up to Orange Alert. Almost simultaneously, we learned that my daughter and her friends had been in close contact with another student who tested positive for Covid. Ugh. The school gives out very little information but they will say it is possible direct exposure of 15 minutes or more when not wearing masks. That can only mean that it was someone at her lunch table because the kids wear masks at all other times of the day. Up until recently, they were able to eat outside if they chose but now it's gotten too cold for that. The kids have assigned seats for lunch for just this reason, and they sit with an empty seat on either side of them. Well, the exposure occurred last Friday. The child in question hasn't been in school since then. Since Kate is fully vaccinated and showing no symptoms, she doesn't have to officially quarantine, but any kid who isn't vaccinated has to quarantine for 14 days. It's a shame. We've managed to avoid all of this for the entire school year up to now, so I guess that makes us a lot luckier than some other areas. I'm just hoping things don't get any worse after Christmas break. Speaking of which, we had tickets to see Aladdin on Broadway between Christmas and New Year's but Broadway just shut down again because of too many Covid cases. At this point, I guess I should just be hopeful that my family gets to have its fully vaccinated Christmas together!

We are going to use your idea. Thanks

We are ready for Xmas mostly. The house is decorated. Presents are bought. We are just waiting on 2 items to be delivered. What we have is wrapped. We have our supplies and are making cookies this weekend. LOL, life is good.
Covid is crazy here too. WI still does not have 60% of the population fully vaxed. We are embarrassed by that. There are full counties in the north half of the state that are still less than 30% vaxed and refuse to do so. It is just so sad. What ever happened to caring about your neighbor and fellow man??

I "cut the cord" a frw years sho and went yo YoutubeTV and an antenna. Well today YoutubeTV cut ABC and all Disney channels.I haven't used my antenna for awhile. I need to figure out out by Jan 2 when The Rookie returns so I can watch it. I also lost all recorded episodes. I had a few shows I was saving to watch when everyone has taken their brakes for Christmas. Darn I lost those too.

Teresa, we have Hulu + Live TV. It includes all of our local channels except Ch 3 and Suns/Dbacks games. It has the same stuff as cable. It has on demand and we can watch a program the next day commercial free. It also comes with 50 hours of recording time. We recently got the NFL network at no extra cost. Sometime in January we'll get Disney+ and ESPN+ at no extra cost (our youngest daughter already has Disney+ so we've been able to watch that, too). We pay $71.54/mo which is $60 less than cable.
