They have recently seen the Salt River cut off for the winter. During the summer it flows at about 1000ft but now it has been cut back to 17ft. We were hoping they would leave it at 100ft so the ell grass that the wild horses eat would last for the winter for feed. Most of the grass is now out of the water so it’s dying fast. So unfortunate and unneeded. Also the river is too low to kayak for most of the river now. www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=14945fdec254

Thanks for the pic/puzzle Tycho!!! That's sad that one of their food sources will be gone. And one of your favorite kaytaking spots.

Once again, they are magnificent! I sure hope the horses find other sources of grass for the winter. Thanks, Tycho!

The non profit group now has to get donations for hay for the winter. They were really hoping to keep the flow at 100ft so this great supply of eel grass would sustain them for the winter.
