Good morning! We're halfway through October already and the temperature dropped about 20 degrees. Last week it was anywhere from 60 to the high 70s. This morning it's only 45 degrees and I've had to pull out our jackets. My husband starts his new job tomorrow. It's the same company but a different division. He's supposed to have today off but he's headed in to the office to get a jump on the new computer training he needs to complete. He'll be working nights, which isn't great, but at least he doesn't have to commute into the city which would have meant three trains totaling about two hours each way. The new position is only a 40 minute drive. So, what do you have planned this week? Check in and let us know.

Glad his job is not in the city. Long commutes are life draining. I’m the conductor again for the FMCA Frustrated Maestros group at the regional convention. I am relaxed this time as we only have 10 singers and 4 instruments. The weather is windy but the temps are still high with possible 90’s the next few days with 60’s at night. I will have to catch the Rookie on my phone until I get back home next week. Sorry to hear about Colin Powell. He did lots of good service for our country over the years.

My Dad went hiking yesterday, slipped on a wet rock and tore his rotator cuff. They're sending him for an MRI to decide if he needs surgery. Right now, he's most upset that he's not going to get to play golf or go kayaking before winter sets in.

Oh no...let's hope his injury is not too serious; and, his recovery is quick.

Sorry about your Dad, Christine. Good news about your hubby too Our Fall has been blah this year with all the rain. Colors are the blandest they have been in ages. We still went on a couple rides up to Door County but had to settle for lunch and a trip to Rikki's favorite Yarn shop which is always enjoyable.
We went to Book Club last week. It was great to see everyone after missing the last 3 months.
It is the Twin's 11th Birthday today. We are going to their house for cake, ice cream , and a little celebration. Their parties with friends will be on the weekend. They are growing up!!
Rikki continues to improve. She uses a cane when we go out. LOL, she is enjoying the cane. People open doors, step out of her way, and let her go first. She's enjoying that.

It's been such a weird week. Todd's new job has him getting home between 3am and 4am. It's only the first week so we haven't adjusted to this schedule yet. I keep getting up to check if he's home yet. Last night, both Kate and I got up when he came home, so we all caught up on the week's events until about 4:30am and then we all went to bed. Hopefully, this gets easier.
Also, today is our wedding anniversary. Usually we just make a nice dinner at home and get a cake, but we're both so tired and our schedules are so off that I don't think we're doing anything, at least not today. Maybe Sunday.

I think we sort of lead parallel lives. My hubby is also Todd. Our anniversary is tomorrow. We never really do anything special but get each other treats that we like. I know you write. I've written some short stories. Maybe someday I'll get around to the great American novel. I'm really anxious for you to be able to sell a story or script. I hope you all get used to the new schedule. I'm a night owl so those hours would probably work for me.

ibmjas, We certainly do have a lot of similarities! We’re night owls too. My husband and I actually met working the closing shifts at a move theater when we were 18. But the transition to this job has been more difficult than we expected, probably because our daughter still needs to maintain a normal schedule for school. I’m sure we’ll adjust; it’s just going to take time. As for the writing, I may have a bit of good news but I don’t want to jinx myself by mentioning it too soon. But I promise to keep you posted.
