Honestly, it can't only be Monday. This has been such a long day already and it's only 4:30pm!
It looks like we're not moving from our apartment but it will still be renovated...and we've got to figure out exactly how that is going to work. We don't have a complete plan yet, or it might be more accurate to say there are several plans in play at the moment and we're trying to nail things down. This is what filled my morning, and will fill my evening today. I just hope we come up with some answers.
Then I donated blood this afternoon. I do this fairly often and since I'm probably going to be having my other hip replaced in the next month or two, I wanted to donate one more time before that.
The donation itself went fine, but then I did something stupid. I had so much to pack into today that I went straight from donating blood to grocery shopping. I was fine until I got to checkout, and I realized there was a ringing in my ears and I was sweating. Luckily, my husband was there. Actually, he had gone back out to the car, but I texted him and he came back in and finished up so I could sit down before I fell down.
So that's been my day so far. How is yours going?

Things aren't going well. My husband's uncle died Saturday. Saturday evening a friend's husband (deputy sheriff) was shot in the head and is in critical condition. We're all praying for his recovery.
Last night the refrigerator went out. No one can come to look at it for days. Everyone is short-handed.
On the bright side, my son was home for the weekend. The visit was way too short as always.

ibmjas I pray the week improves for you. Life seems like it does that. It's not just one thing it's multiple things at once.
PTVJ Glad you will not have to move, sorry it will be crazy until the renovations are over. I use to donate blood. My blood pressure was always low and they won't let me leave until it was at least up into the 90's. I ended up now with high BP after gaining weight and teaching for 35+ years, The last time I tried to give they only got about 1/2 a bag. My veins just don't want to give up my blood so I finally stopped trying.
Met my new neighbors. They seem like nice people. I will try and have the neighbors over for a meet and greet next month after they get settled.
I'm glad we will have some new shows to watch this week. I hope we are not disappointed with The Rookie. I fear someone will die...

ibmjas, I’m so very sorry. There really are no words but I hope your husband’s friend recovers soon. The refrigerator is a small thing that probably feels like the last straw after such a horrible weekend. Hang in there. tycho657, I’m glad you like your neighbors. As for The Rookie, I’m not reviewing it this season but if there’s a screener I may still get a sneak peek. As for me, we had dinner last night and thought we had a plan set out for renovations, only to wake up this morning and find out things are going to be more complicated than we thought. Ugh. I’ll be very happy when things are settled and there’s a solid plan.

ibmjas, so sorry about your week. PTVJ, happy you do not have to move and hoping they come up with a firm plan soon!!
We have had a good week. We did go to the movies on Friday. LOL, enjoyed our snacks and saw Cry Macho, the new movie from Clint Eastwood. We very much enjoyed it.
Rikki saw her doctor for the first time since knee surgery. He was extremely pleased with her progress. She still needs to use walker when we go somewhere but uses cane at home. They added stairs to her regimen. Last week, up 5, down 5. This week ,10 steps. She asked about her lack of sleep. He said that is the number 1 complaint of his patients. He said it will improve with time and less pain.
I went on motorcycle ride on Sunday. It was a great day for it.
This Friday, we are going to Door County to visit friends who are vacationing there. It's a beautiful area and will be fun.
Christine, we were so impressed and jealous when we heard how well NJ is doing with the Covid vaccinations. WI is at 53% fully vaccinated and it barely moves at all. We have a Dem. Gov, but the Republicans control the Legislature and Supreme Court. Everything is political here. They wanted inschool learning without masks. 800 people were out the first week, just in Green Bay, and it's not getting any better. We are back masking when we go shopping. Some stores are asking nicely that you mask up and Walmart is requiring masks in their stores. We are going backwards and no one seems to care. It's just sad.

We were concerned about no one being able to come look at our fridge until the end of this week and afraid that they would have to order a part since it's 15 years old and that might take another week or two. We went refrigerator shopping yesterday. We have a small opening but currently have a side by side with ice and water dispenser on the outside. They hardly make fridges less than 36" wide and we needed 33". As we left the last store, the really good repair guy called and said he had a cancellation and could come by right away. He said it was minor problem in temp control. He could get the part by Friday. Hallelujah! Then he said if you jiggle the control you can probably keep it running. All the food needs to be thrown out but we keep jiggling the control to keep it going so we can have a few things.
It's a good opportunity to clean it from top to bottom. I know there were a lot of things in the freezer that had been in there over year. I date stuff so it will be interesting to see how old some of that stuff really is!

Well, we were doing some weeding. Our dog, Barclay, was just 'looking around' when she disturbed what turned out to be an underground yellow jacket/hornet nest. Out came the hornets to find the invader. Barclay raced toward Dawn to escape. Dawn saw the cloud following Barclay. They ran toward the house while warning me. I brushed hornets off Dawn as she was brushing them off Barclay and then herself. Barclay seems to have been stung on her left foot but is resting now. Dawn was really attacked as she was trying to protect Barclay. She was more worried about Barclay than herself. She has stings all over...more than a dozen area where we had to apply lotion and ice packs. They got me only four times. As a nurse, she knows the protocol for treatment. We will all be fine in a couple days. Fortunately, none got into our home as we rushed in to escape them. Maybe this is an omen about yard work...no, that will occur happen!

larryholmes, Yikes! That's scary. I'm sorry it happened and at the same time relieved it wasn't much worse for all of you. We had hornets in my front yard when I was a teenager. I remember they were big and aggressive and we had to call en exterminator to get rid of them. They say curiosity killed the cat, but it doesn't seem to have done much for your dog either.

Just had a recount...19 ugly looking, angry red stings in some very inconvenient places. Dawn is having a really hard time trying to find a sleeping position. They are all over which makes finding any position difficult to impossible. I have just a few which are giving me fits. Barclay seems to be fine but worried because she can sense our discomfort.

This is my worst nightmare. I hope you are all ok. After that many stings I would have gone to the dr for sure. Let’s pray they can keep the killer hornets from spreading from Washington. Those are crazy big and bad. Take care.💕🙏🏻
