How's your week going?- Week of September 6, 2021

So I went through this entire day thinking it was Sunday and only just realized it was actually Monday and I should post this thread. Between the storm and the holiday, I'm a little discombobulated.

Last week was just crazy around here but my town didn't suffer as much as some that surround us. You may see on the news that President Biden is visiting Manville, NJ tomorrow. That's the town where I grew up. There were always certain sections that flooded but now it's practically the entire town! I fear for what the next storm will bring.

But today was good. I finally took my daughter shopping for school. Sneakers, a jacket, some shirts, etc. I know a lot of schools hit parents with a long supply list these days but our school system doesn't. Other than the occasional notebook or folder, they supply pretty much everything. However, she did get a new backpack, which she's thrilled with.

I have high hopes that this will be a better week. So, check in and let us know how things are for you.

I have spent the weekend watching the US Open. I played on the tennis team in HS and college. I have not been able to play for quite a while because of my back. It has been interesting to watch all of the young people doing so well. It was sad to see and hear about the terrible people on social media giving some of these young people such grief.
I start my camping season begins this week. I will be up north and will take the train up to the Grand Canyon one day.
I thought my wonderful kitties had caught a cricket yesterday as I heard chirping sounds that went away. Today they were back and ,as I suspected, it is a smoke alarm. I put in lithium batteries last year so I though I was set for 10 years. Well, come to find out the smoke detectors only last maybe 10 years. These are original in the house that we built in 1197 so..Time to get new smke detectors I guess..LOL  I found a great electrician this month to fix another thing in my house and I called him. He said he will pick up new smoke detectors and install them this afternoon. I am so glad I found him.
