I've been working all morning and just realized that it's Monday again and I need to post this thread. It's odd how that sneaks up on me.
We had fun this weekend. Our town had an event that was a cross between a street fair and a block party. The point was to remind people of the businesses we have in town, many of which were closed during the worst of the pandemic. It was all outdoors on Main Street, so most people weren't wearing masks, which I hope doesn't come back to bite us, but NJ has a high vaccination rate and our local hospitals don't have many Covid patients at this time, even with the Delta variant out there.
There was live music, and food trucks and stands with lots of good food. I got to see some friends I haven't caught up with in months, and even found some shops I didn't know existed, even though I live right here in town. So, all in all, I think it was a big success, as long as we get through the next week without having any outbreaks attributed to it!
So, anything new going on for you and how is your week going so far?

I was able to see and learn about horseback archery from Hungary. That is where this started but we have people in the US and Canada now who do events during the year in both countries if covid restrictions are not blocking them. It is fun to watch them Gallop down the tract on a horse and get their arrows knocked and off toward the target. There were 4 riders in their teens or early 20's plus people as old as 69. I might have to come and visit my friend next year's to watch again. I head home tomorrow. I should be home by Friday . I'm looking forward to my pool. It's been hot, muggy, and VERY smokey for the last week in Montana. We got a nice rain last night and this morning and that helped to clear out some of the smoke.

The weather has been unbelievable here for 4 or 5 days. It's gotten down to the low 60s at night and gets in the low 80s during the day with winds out of the north. It's like fall! It was so hot and humid before it wasn't any fun being outdoors. Now it's great and I think we have at least 1 more day of this weather. My son came home for a long weekend from Denver. It was so great to see him. Of course he was back for a wedding and hung out with friends and other family members but we got to see him some.

I'm back home on Arizona πΆπ΅πΆπ΅π after being gone for over a month it is good to be home. Jumped in my pool to get refreshed only to find it was 96 degrees, but it still felt good. My back yard looks like a jungle it's so green π all it takes is a little rain and things turn green fast. The desert was a beautiful green a I drove down from the North from the mountains. My front yard is green but the back yard is worse so people can't see that as much. I did lose my flag pole during one storm. The metal pole going into the ground holding the pole is still there but the pole bent to the ground. The flag pole and flag are fine. I will need to get the pile back up. π

tycho657, it's amazing what a little rain can do. My Mom's in California where it only rains during the winter. From spring to fall everything is brown. When she was here in NJ (where she grew up) a couple of weeks ago, she said she couldn't believe how green everything was. It felt tropical to her. Sorry about your flagpole. I hope you can get that fixed, and I'm glad it didn't damage anything on its way down. Welcome home!
