Wait...it's Monday? Yes, this just hit me. As both I and my husband have the day off, it feels more like Sunday. Hey, ibmjas! Did you ever choose a paint color? I love choosing colors so I'm curious. tycho657, are you still in Montana? larryholmes, do you have more yard work to do this week? I hear the entire country is going to be under something called a "heat dome." So, that sounds like fun. Everyone, check in! Let us know how you're doing.

Yes I will be in Montana for the week. My friend bought a new paint house today. She will be training it to do archery on horseback. She is holding a tournament for Archery on Horseback later this week. “Cole” is 8 years old and seems like a well trained gentle horse. The smoke is still covering all of the mountains. The people she bought the horse from drove down from the Missoula. They said it is scary how dry things are up that way and the many fires burning. I read that 8 people died on the road I will be driving home on yesterday from a big dust storm.

Lots of yard work daily! 'Heat dome' sure is here...heat index is right at 100 daily. We are really very far behind on rain. So, watering is essential too. Of course, if we watered less, there just might be less yard work - no, that is not going to happen here. If I survive, the sixteenth supposedly annual 'Great Canada Fishing Adventure' travel begins on 12 August. I fly to Minneapolis where my brother who drives up from Iowa and I meet to begin trip to International Falls. After crossing border [which is apparently very likely to be a real drill because of COVID protocol procedures], we go to Dryden then Sioux Lookout where the two weeks of fishing fun begins. I really hope Dawn just lets the yard work slide a bit and doesn't try to maintain the pace we have have both been maintaining. Maybe, she will cut back work expectations some. Perhaps this Fall, she'll go to visit her brother and his family in England. She hasn't been back in many years with several recent plans destroyed by all the COVID restrictions.

My espresso machine in my RV has stopped working 😿😢🙀🙈. I will be traveling home without my morning 4 shots of espresso!!!!! I need to buy some bottles of starbucks in a bottle to tie me over. I called the wonderful help line at DeLonghi but a part is jammed inside and I can’t fix it without sending it in for repair. Not fair!! I just hope this little town in Montana has some espresso in a bottle for me. If not it will be a long trip home e for sure.

tycho657, Oh no! That is a serious problem, especially when you are the only driver. Many grocery stories carry half gallon Starbucks products in the refrigerated aisle. Hopefully you'll find something soon to tide you over until you can get home and send your machine out to get fixed. Good luck and keep us posted!

Because I couldn't get paint samples, I bought 2 quarts that we felt were perfect. After I painted a small wall in each color, they were not good. Lowes actually had a few pre-packaged popular Sherwin Williams samples. I bought one (Agreeable Gray) and painted a few splotches and we decided we will go with it. I hope we like it when we get it on the walls, but there is too much going on right now to get to it.
All summer my husband kept talking about the little fawn he kept seeing in the backyard but I was never around to see it. I finally got to see it last week and I've seen it 4 times since! He's getting big now and starting to lose his spots but he's still cute.
I've been watching the Olympics. The swimmer, Lilly King, is from here. They have been having huge watch parties for her events. Yesterday it was at a park with a pool. They erected a huge screen. Kids were swimming in the pool. It was like a huge picnic. I just saw women's handball for the first time. I'd never heard of it. They throw around a ball that looks like a tiny volleyball and try to get it in what looks like a soccer net. Weird. Then I saw 3 on 3 basketball. It seems like they just keep making up sports. There are still several I'm interested in though.
