Well, Cara, the 12-foot python was found last week, although it took a couple of days. Here's a cute video about it. We dropped off our Jeep for service again, after they cancelled our appointment last week. The white smoke coming out of the tailpipe has gotten worse, although it doesn't happen every time we start it. Last time, one of the mechanics told us they couldn't replicate it and it could just be condensation. If you saw it, you'd know that's not it. So this time we took some video. I just hope we get this figured out. Now that we're down to one car, we definitely need one that's reliable, and the manufacturer's warranty is up the end of this month. Other than that, there isn't much going on. We're still looking for rentals but there isn't much available right now and they're all expensive. I'm also waiting to hear word about whether a project I've been working on will get picked up. So, those things are still in limbo. How are things going for you? Check in and let us know.

Oh wow, PTVJ, Sorry about your problems with the jeep and the rental search. I really wish you good luck your project. Hope it takes off and everything else falls in line. Here's drinking to it.

Oh wow, PTVJ, Sorry about your problems with the jeep and the rental search. I really wish you good luck your project. Hope it takes off and everything else falls in line. Here's drinking to it. Thanks so much! Well, they're scoping the engine on the Jeep to figure out exactly what's happening. At least they now agree there's a problem, they're just trying to pinpoint what it is. I still haven't heard back yet on the project, but realistically it could take about another week. I really want it to work out and I worry that I'm thinking about it so much that I'll jinx myself. But it's the rentals that are bringing me down. If we're staying in NJ, we want to stay in this school district but rents are so high and there isn't much available. Our rent will likely double and I'm currently not even seeing anything I really like. I keep telling myself that the right place for us will come available at the right time, but staying positive isn't easy.

I have been off grid this week. I am boondocking. We just pull off the road and park for the night. I am exploring Wyoming and it's open spaces. Today my favorite sign today was "merging antelope at 55 mph".

I've had an eventful week. I won my flight in the Women's City Golf Tournament. I picked the wild blackberries that grow along our property line and made a cobbler. Yummy! The wild blackberries are smaller so it's harder to get enough for a cobbler but did my best. There are still lots of red berries that aren't ripe yet so hopefully I'll get enough for another cobbler. Finally got the grass cut after a fairly rainy week and power-washed the back patio. It was black with mold or mildew and even had some moss growing on it. I think I used a month's worth of water trying to get it clean. Looks much better though!
Now we're struggling to pick a paint color for Family room/kitchen/hallway that is all open. Because of material shortages they don't have any sample sizes. Since I can't tell from a little paint square what it will really look like, I bought a quart of the one we thought we liked. It was so light my husband didn't realize I had painted over the primer, but it had a slight bluish tint that we didn't want. Now I bought another quart ($25 a pop). It looks more promising but my husband thinks it looks too dark. It's maddening.

tycho657, I hope you took a photo of the "merging antelope" sign. That one's a keeper. ibmjas, Congrats on the golf tournament! That's very cool. And I'm jealous about the cobbler. Blackberry cobbler is a favorite of mine, so I'm wishing I was close enough to visit right now. And I can't believe they won't give you any sample colors. You really don't know what a color will look like in your home until you put some on the wall and let it dry. Good luck, and I'm curious to find out which you choose.

No picture of the sign. When you are driving a motorhome down the highway doing 65 towing a car taking photos is not something I do.

Yesterday I had my first real scare with my cats in the RV. Allegro is my curious explorer. I have always worried about her when I open my slide. Finally I thought she could go under the recliners and be safe. NOT!! She found a small opening behind the driver's chair to slip thru and get trapped UNDER the slide!@%! I saw her paws reaching out from under the slide when I called her. She realized she was trapped and called for help. My friend Gary helped me try to get her out. I finally had to move the slide in to get her out. I had visions of a squished kitty. She got out without a scratch. Mom needed a stiff drink.

Maybe everyone needs an RV to travel. Last month, my Dad's flight home from my sister's got delayed for over six hours.
Now, my Mom and step-father were supposed to arrive here last night, but their flight was delayed and then cancelled, and then rescheduled for this morning, and then cancelled again! They currently have the last two available seats on a flight that leaves midnight tonight and arrives about 8am tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed it all works out this time.

There are many new people getting into RVing. I am at a gathering called "Escapees". They have one group for full timers, people who still work on the road, and a few other special groups. Out of the 700+ RV's at this event there were almost 400 1st time people last night attending for the 1st time. This was my 1st time at one of their events. It was so hot in the big tent with no AC and they didn't event have any fans. Only 1 building has AC. They didn't think it would be this hot here. I have AC in my RV so I retreat to that.
