I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The weather is nice here, in the 80s with occasional thunderstorms, but that's the norm for this time of year.
We have to move this summer as where we rent now is scheduled for a major renovation. I'm happy to move but our timing couldn't be worse. Rents are high and there isn't much available. I'm telling myself that we'll find the place we're meant to have, but it is a little daunting. I know I'll be thrilled when we finally find someplace and get settled in.
Little Butterscotch, our hamster is doing well. It's fun to see where she decides to sleep. There's a half log she usually burrows under, sets the bedding up the way she likes and even hides food down there. But there's also a smaller cork log that's hollowed out. She actually chewed threw a portion of it from the inside, then made her way through the hole to burrow into the bedding below and sleep there. It's funny how fascinated we've become with her in such a short time.
And this is the last week of school even thought it doesn't feel like it. It's been such a strange year.
So how are things where you are?

Sorry to hear of your having to face relocation...even local moves are trying. Nevertheless, your attitude about it certainly will be very helpful. It is still very hot and humid here; but, yard 'maintenance' continues every day. It just never ends! Thankfully, the cicada invasion is finally about over.

The whole cicada thing is pretty interesting. We haven't had any in southern Indiana. Just 2 hours north they were inundated with them. A friend kept measuring the decibels they were putting out. Her highest reading was 93 decibels. Continued exposure could lead to some hearing loss. Just an hour north of that they had no cicadas.
5 or 6 years ago we had a lot of cicadas so I guess we're just out of the cycle.

Good luck with the move. I hope you can find a good place. Are you still thinking about changing states? I just returned from my camping trip to the mountains. It is fire season. There was a lightning caused fire near the town of Strawberry. My neighbors in town have a cabin up there. They are in the process of moving up there permanently. I think they are happy at this time to still have their house here. The fire is still 0% contained last I heard. We have thunder and lightning most afternoon up there. Another fire was started on Saturday and I heard a 2nd one was also started near Heber. Heber had one of the largest fires in State history a few years back. I love to visit up in the pines but I would not want a house up there. It would be in the high 60's or 70's most mornings. I could open the windows and enjoy the mountain air at night. I did turn on the AC during the day for the cats. On Saturday it was so wonderful to sit outside under my awning and listen to the rain pitter patter. I love the rain. What can I say I grew up in the Seattle area. Rain brings me peace I try and stay off line as much as possible when I'm out camping but I did stream the Suns game yesterday. We were missing Paul, one of our leaders, for the game due to "covid prodicals" . He must have been exposed or something and they would not let him play. without him. Kitties are happy to be back home.

Hi All, LOL, WI weather drives us NUTS. We went from scorching hot to cool. It's been in 50's some mornings to highs in the 60's to low 70's. Attending the twin's games is an adventure. We go from sweating profusely to needing jackets and throws to keep warm. I think we are supposed to hit 80 next week. It takes the fun out of motorcycling when you need a jacket and gloves to go anywhere, We have been enjoying going to movies again. It is so enjoyable to do some normal things again. We go at odd times so it is not crowded. We also ate in a very nice restaurant on Saturday night. A very nice experience. Again, we went when they first opened when crowd was light. We find that by going at slightly odd times that we can feel comfortable. We have taken the twins to the show twice already and both times there were less than a dozen in the theater . Nobody sat close to us I had a nice Father's Day. It was wonderful to have in person visits!!!

About 15 miles from us several people have spotted a bobcat and several cats are missing. We see deer and wild turkeys in our backyard all the time and have occasionally seen a coyote. I'm concerned about bobcat sightings!

We have a bobcat family in our area.we also have coyotes, javalinas, big owls, eagles, ospreys, and other wild animals in the area. I live next to a river and a national forest. I expect that here. I enjoy seeing nature. This is why I keep my cats inside always.

Yikes, now there is a black bear sighting about 15 miles away. They are still investigating to try to confirm. There are eagles in the area too, but I enjoy seeing them.
