I hate to admit it, but sometimes I didn't always feel... comfortable offering my full opinion about the show and where the showrunners took it at the 12th either. Especially when it differed from those of the adminitrators. I don't attribute it to being male, to be honest. It was more a clash of perspective.
I loved being a member at the 12th and stayed till the wheels quite literally fell off, but there was a bit of a "Marlowe can do no wrong" vibe going on there that this site has thus far managed to avoid. It was a bit daunting to cross that divide after I no longer shared the blind "In Marlowe We Trust" sentiment, especially after the season 6 finale.
It was, however a lot more polite at the 12th than in the ABC boards and Queenie should be lauded for her efforts at keeping it that way as long as she did. Ive only been in the ABC Boards a time or two, but I'm not surprised ABC is shutting them down. the place is a war zone with almost no oversight.

Ahhh!!! The late great ABC boards. R.I.P. I had some great times there early on. I joined 4 days after Lisa C. We immediately went to debating the show and spent many hours going head to head. It was really fun early on and there were some great posters. Then ....... the troll army showed up and the personal attacks started with a vengeance. Absolutely the worst moderation I've ever seen. No one was safe but we trudged on for the sake of the show and the hardcore fans. I haven't been able to log on there for years now. That was why the 12th was started. The problem at the 12th soon became obvious. No opinion was welcome that didn't follow the strict party line. Even respectful criticism was shunned. You just can't have a level playing field if the show runners and writers are elevated to Deity. They really are human after all and humans make mistakes. Respectful criticism should be the corner stone of great debates. We all love the show and should be able to make a non-party line statement and opinion with out feeling like traitors. MilMar out. Amann out. TPW and AH in to try to save the show after season 6-7 debacles that had fans revolting in mass is all the evidence anyone need to see. Yes,Im still in till the wheels fall off the show. If I stay welcome on this board it will be because my unbiased opinion is welcome and honest debate is also welcome. I've waited a long time to make this post. I hope it is received in the spirit it was intended.

arky, shutterbug5269 and everyone here at PFJ. I love Castle. I’m in it until the wheels fall off but that doesn’t mean I don’t see its flaws. Case in point, I disliked ep 623 the moment I watched it. Now, looking back at it after watching all of season 7, I absolutely despise 623 and think it was a huge misstep from the writers. That doesn't mean I don't think they are talented, hard working people with the best of intentions but I disagree with where they took the story here. There’s nothing to be done about it now but move forward. Healthy debate is a good thing, as long as it is done civilly. My only concerns are that I never want this board to turn as negative as the ABC board where people seemed to spend more time bashing the show than enjoying it. I also don’t want it to have that aspect of the 12th where members were uncomfortable to post a differing opinion. As long as we’re all here because we love the show, feel free to go ahead and debate. If I feel things take a truly negative turn or become personal you may hear from me but as long as we all mind our manners, I see no problem with voicing our opinions on what we like and dislike. So, have at it and have fun.

All these boards seem to develop a "soul" of their own. This is a very nice board, but it is evolving into a board mostly for women. There are very few men here and we are careful what we say. Very few of us make comments at all. Hopefully, it will change a little as S8 begins. Don't get me wrong. I like it here. My comments are just my observation so far. Don't let the women, or "amount" of us (for lack of better word at the moment) intimidate you. I ADORE a man's perspective on all things Castle! And you think what you think. There is nothing wrong with that, or sharing, in any way. Rock on, geez! Glad you're here! And I am certain that the summer hiatus is keeping many away. I'm pretty sure java, for one, will return with the season.

Hope you will feel free to say what you want to say!!!!! I will echo PTVJ, I think a lot of people, male and female, tend to spend less time on the board over the summer. I know I do, but I'm not a male so I guess that doesn't help the statistics!!!!! Exactly!

So, have at it and have fun. Regarding 6 x 23, exactly. That was a train wreck in every respect, except for our beloved actors doing what they do best. I couldn't believe MilMar wrote it, let alone thought it was an acceptable finale. But, I digress. It wasn't the lack of wedding, per se. It was that our beloved Kate was completely out of character, and made to look a fool. Screwing with her one & done, having her do things totally unacceptable to her (breaking into the truck), just a farce. Trying to make her look flawed? Heck, hasn't she already proven that through "all that they've been through together"... omg! And there would've been nothing wrong with allowing that beautiful wedding to go off, and then end it with Castle being taken as they were driving off into the sunset. What a huge disappointment in every respect! I understand what assuming can do, but I just didn't think that TPTB would take this putting off the wedding as they did and sucker punching us in that manner with that horrible excuse of a finale. I am a glass-half-full person, but that just crushed my spirit for this show, and my OCD meter plummeted, like nothing else. It has taken me all of Season 7 for that meter to rise. Never mind the drama that ensued over so many of the fans voicing their displeasure with that farce of a finale. At any rate, I will stop. Yeah. Still bitter. Sorry (not sorry). But I just want to say to you, Christine, and to everyone that is here, thank you. Thank you for this new home, and thank you to everyone who is here voicing their hopes for the love, respect, and acceptance of one another's opinions/feelings that have been voiced thus far, without fear of being noodle-whipped. That is not what love and respect and discussion and debate is about. That is a dictatorship. The diplomacy here has been refreshing. Sorry for the semi-rant. But I expect that it is okay.

I left The 12th when it became clear my opinions would not be welcome there and went back to ABC but it was never, ever the same after Boardageddon 1.

CF40, thanks for reminding me about Arky's Antics early on! We certainly did have a fun time for a couple of years.
I think we have a fantastic board growing here, with open minded, reasonable and respectful members in all shapes and sizes, so to speak. I love the diversity and the perspectives that others bring to our discussions. I'm looking forward to a surge of interest and energy when the season gets going.

Wow well said Arky and Shutterbug. Didnt like the sucker punch that was 6x23 (still haven't watched it a second time). But still love my show and the characters. If you pretend 6x23 7-01 and 07-02 didn't happen the rest of season 7 I really enjoyed. Getting excited and really looking forward to 8x01. Also glad to have our board.
