Last week was so busy that Monday kind of snuck up on me. Lots of work and family stuff.
It was my brother-in-law's birthday on Saturday. He and my sister (and niece) are moving to Montana, so that's where they are right now looking for a place to live, so we did a Zoom party. (We've done a lot of those this past year.) My sister will be working for the US. Bureau of Land Mangement and my brother-in-law just got a job as a Forest Service firefighter!
And we bought a 40 gallon breeder tank for our hamster-to-be. It was on sale for 50% at Petco. It's funny, because every country has different recommendations for how much space a hamster needs. In the US, it's 450 square inches, other countries recommend 600 inches, and Germany requires 1000 square inches! My husband jokes that German hamsters are hamster royalty. Our tank is 660 square inches which seems to be a good size for one Syrian hamster.
It's only Monday and I've had two appointments get cancelled already this week that need to be rescheduled. Things feel so busy and out of sorts this week. I mentioned that to a friend who told me it's Mercury Retrograde. (She's very into astrology.) I'm not exactly sure what that means but it's probably as good an explanation as any.
So how is your week going? Let us know what's up with you.

I’m enjoying the beautiful weather. It was low 70’s this morning so I opened up my doors. It has been like that for the last week. My kitties are enjoying the look outside. I am preparing music for the FMCA Rally in July in Gillette WY. Keeps me busy playing various instruments checking out parts. I enjoyed the series final of NCIS NEw Orleans. I had stopped watching this year but I did catch up. I liked the lead but didn’t care for some of the other character they changed up over the years. Got a couple of new wooden puzzle this week. I really need to get the larger puzzle next time. The pieces are so small I could use tweezers to put some pieces together.

I’m planning on doing an evening kayak trip for the full moon tonight. I bought colorful lights to put on my kayak. There is a group going. It should be interesting with the full moon.

We have a pond about 75 feet from our patio. Saturday morning, Rikki looked outside and lo and behold there was a snapping turtle standing in the corner of our patio. She calmly called me over and asked what I was going to do(LOL, notice the I) Having been a kid many years ago on a place with a pond and a river , I knew to pick him or her up by the tail and put it back at the edge of the pond. Problem solved. We have also found a painted turtle in the bushes on the pond side We have been attending grandson's baseball games regularly and granddaughter's soccer games start soon. I went on my first motorcycle ride and had a fun day. LOL, it is now in the low 50's and won't hit 60 again until Saturday. Yesterday, we went down to Milwaukee to visit a daughter and granddaughter, both vaccinated , and had a very nice visit. Hope all are having a good week!

I survived the full moon kayak paddle down the Salt River. I have no plans to ever do that again. The big full moon was hiding behind the clouds until the last 20 min of the 4+ hour trip. The river was very high. They release extra water for the dam when they know that there will be more power needed. I had 2 people flip their kayaks right in front of me. It was a challenge to get around them without flipping myself. There was also a whirlpool that I just barely got around. Thank goodness I hooked up with a small group who helped to guide me on the last half of the trip. I didn’t have a headlamp so I was going down the river in darkness unable to see where the dangers were located.I’m just happy to have made the trip without flipping into the cold river at night.
