HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Our two boys and daughter-in-law are here for the weekend. For Mother's Day, and also as our youngest's best friend is getting married today. We had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating with my mom for lunch and a trip to a local greenhouse where our boys picked out flowers for her for her yard. She loved them! She said she didn't want any more "sit around" things, so practical is the way to go for her.
Our eldest and daughter-in-law have bought me a print from France, of a famous chateau (I am a Francophile), and it has not yet arrived, but I'm over-the-moon to receive it. Our youngest brought me a bottle of my favorite port wine, but in the 20 YEAR vintage! OHHH my gosh, it is divine!
We ended yesterday with Chinese food at our favorite local place. Today, the wedding of a kind young man and his sweet bride.
My husband bought me a new cherry tree and had it planted in the back yard.
Life is short... eat the cake. And rejoice in every little thing!
Love to all you moms out there - in whatever form!

That's awesome, larryholmes. I love that. It's been a busy day here. First I got my second Covid vaccinne! Woohoo! So far I feel fine but we'll see what tomorrow brings. Then, we were supposed to have a picnic lunch with my mother-in-law, but it rained. She said she'd prefer to do it outdoors tomorrow than indoors today, so we've rescheduled. We then got take-out for ourselves, and my daughter bought me a banana split, which has become our Mother's Day tradition. And we just finished up a zoom call with my mother, sister, and niece. Hope you are all having a lovely day. |

Our oldest daughter and husband and youngest daughter and boyfriend came over, along with their dogs (2 Beagles and a
Chihuahua mix). They brought lunch and then some went swimming. We were going to have a card game, but the refrigerator decided to have a water leak instead! Luckily it was from a tiny crack in a hose that our daughter's boyfriend was able to fix. I owe him a couple meals for that, lol. All in all it was a nice day, and I hope all you moms here had a good day, too.
