Well, I woke up this morning to find my email isn't working. Of course, this is happening while I'm waiting for an important response to a project I've been working on. Luckily, I have a secondary address, and had to send out some frantic emails from it this morning to let people know that's the one they should respond to until I get this straightened out. I just hope my new emails don't end up in their spam folders because it's an address they may not recognize.
My husband is currently at the Jeep dealership trying to get our Renegade fixed. Two weeks ago, we thought it would be covered under warranty (it isn't) and they charged us a $150 diagnostic fee without discussing it first. But we didn't get too upset because they said it would be a credit towards the work once they figured out what was wrong. Well, they finally figured it out, but now they're saying if we don't get ALL of the work they're recommending done today, we don't get the $150 credit. Not all of the work NEEDS to be done now (nor can we afford it). Some of it isn't vital and can wait so we're arguing with them about that.
So this is Monday. I hope yours is going better.

Wow, sorry to hear of all these ordeals! Hopefully you'll succeed with your preferred work scheduling. Thanks. Yes, in the end, my husband had to work his way up to the service manager but they did agree to give us the $150 credit for only part of the work listed. It was just aggravating to have to jump through so many hoops to get there. And my e-mail is working again, so the day has gotten better. Did you end up doing any more yard work this weekend?

Sounds like a challenging week. Dealing with dealerships is always a pain. I love my Honda’s. They seem to just keep going and going. Email issues, that is crazy? The world is on line now a days so that can be really bad. I am heading out camping again this week. I will be doing some kayaking with the first group at a state park. It will be nice to escape again for a little while. I finally watched Nomadland yesterday. I have been to Quartzite, AZ almost every year for the big RV show. I didn’t go this year with covid but last year I was camping on BLM land with about 90 women in their RV’s my one group is only women and this event is the biggest draw of the year. I found the movie very interesting. I have met some of these nomads in Quartzite . I was happy to see it win the Oscar.

"...Did you end up doing any more yard work this weekend?..."
Not much yard work. We have some lingering rain showers late Friday and Saturday without much accomplished. We really needed the rain [and rest] anyway. Sunday was mostly 'family time' with our older son and his family at our home. It is only about two weeks until he begins his second deployment to Kuwait. Everyone tries to be very casual about this; however, we all know that we are not fooling anyone. Since he is a JAG officer [thankfully not combat arms] it is supposed to be less worrying. Well, that is not working either! I know that things can happen any where at any time. But, that knowledge is not all that reassuring either. It may be a full year tour of duty whereas last tour was nine months. They may some special assignment in mind that Chris says would be truly interesting. There had been some 'by name' request for him. As long as it is in a secure area, that sounds wonderful.

You must be so proud, and yet incredibly stressed. I can only imagine. Please thank your son for his service. He's a JAG officer, does that mean he's an attorney?

LarryHolmes thank your son and his family for their service. That has to be so hard on the family left behind.

Yes...Chris is a lawyer. Our other son, Nick, is a doctor. Fortunately, they both had a brilliant mother...she is still having trouble raising me after 53 years!

Hope everyone's week has gotten better. Our recent week's have been good. We both had our 6 month checkups and the Docs are pleased with us Our Daughter and SIL here have had both their covid shots and are doing well. We do not necessarily agree with them but they have been on 2 big vacations this Spring. SIL could not resist the low prices for travel. They went to the Dominican Republic a little over a month ago and are in Hawaii now. LOL, Mike's boss told him he can't have any more time off for the next 6 months so he will have to stay put for a while. Personally, we will not be going anywhere til a lot more folks get their shots. We are happy to see May on the horizon. We will have the summer months to do outdoor dining. We are going to the movies a week from tomorrow. We are comfortable with what the theaters here are doing to make things safe. Being fully vaccinated, we are comfortable with a little risk. LOL, we have made a list of things to do this summer that we consider low risk for us. I'm happy to say that the list is quite a bit larger than it was last year at this time.

My husband's first car was a Honda CRX and he put over 300K miles on it. We also had a Honda Element we had for 10 years, but Todd wanted something different this time. He loves his Jeep Renegade but as we approach the 5 year mark, I worry about maintenance issues, especially as we are currently down to sharing one car. Enjoy your camping! My sister has a good friend who is single and in her 60s and is considering just getting an RV and hitting the road, but she's concerned about always being on her own. The RV groups might be just the thing she's looking for.

I know ladies that are full time in their RV's. I actually enjoyed Nomadeland. I have been going to Quartzite for years. Such a unique gathering of RV people from all over met up there every year. My all women's group has about 90 rigs every year ( except this year with covid I didn't go) There are 1000's of RV's of every shape and size that come to stay for free on the BKM land that surrounds Quartzite. I am currently camping with my RVing Women's. One of the ladies broke down on the highway near the exit. She had to wait 6 hrs for the tow truck. The dealership was already closed for the night. She lives full time in her RV. She put what she could into her tow car and drove up to where we are camping the next morning. I offered my recliner to sleep in a she was going to just sleep in her car. She loves cats so all was well. I told her to tell the dealership her RV was her house so they would hopefully let her jump the line. There are at least 5 ladies on this campout who are full time living in their RV's. They love traveling the country.
