The Rookie review 3x09 "Amber Alert"

Two or our three rookies are rookies no more!

Here's my review of "Amber Alert."

I'm curious as to which rookie/training officer has been your favorite pairing of the series and if anyone else is as irked by Prof. Ryan as I am or if I'm having overlapping feelings because I despised the actor's role on Castle.

I thought Ryan was out of line. She talked her way into their car and kept insulting the police. She did her own recordings as though she wanted to catch them doing something out of line. I know she had some points that even Nolan and Harper agreed with that maybe the police aren't equipped to handle everything that perhaps a social worker or psychologist could manage better. She also wanted to terminate the whole force and make them reapply. That doesn't seem practical. I think they need to act on the officers that too frequently use excessive force or show extreme prejudice. I think they already know who the problem officers are but they protect them. Something does need to change but I'm not sure how to accomplish it. It irked me that she had already written the book without talking to police because she felt she already knew everything she needed to know. I don't get why she even wanted to ride along since the book was done unless she really did hope to catch them doing something wrong.

Yeah Ryan was trying to get them on camera doing something wrong. There is no way they would have allowed someone to ride along and video their day. Too much chance of altering the video and try and make it look bad. There were good points made about police reform. I think many police want to see changes. They have to deal with so much today. It’s going to be harder and harder to find people who want to be officers.
I miss Bishop with Nolan. Nyla had a hard job filling in after Bishop left. West had the most challenging rookie year dealing with the Stanton and his behavior. The only Two who made it the whole year were Chen and Bradford. I think they both grew a lot during the year. We learned how Chen had more depth than we thought and Bradford learned to cope with things he had never faced. Did he ever pass the exam that she helped him study for earlier this year.
I had to laugh at Chen faking that she had feeling for Tim and he was flustered. Then she laughed and said “See I can lie to your face”. All of the people that want to see the, get together must have been crushed as the promo led them to think it was real.
