Summer is showing around the country. We will have some low 90's this week. I need to get back on the Salt River this week as the water level is up and i should be able to do the full 12 miles. I'm preparing for my Great Grandkiddos coming next week.I will be 2 weeks out when they come. I have been stuffing plastic eggs with stickers and colored cheese fish crackers for them to do an Easter Egg hunt. I have plans to attend an outdoor Easter Mass at my church. First in-person church in over a year.

Tycho, congrats on having the kiddos coming!!!!!!!!! That's going to be fantastic! I hope you get back on the river too. Your pics have been gorgeous!
After being crazy busy last week with grandkids on spring break and 3 different small gatherings with friends to play games, I have a relatively calm week ahead. I'll be doing Easter dinner here but there'll just be 5 of us. I'll do most of my cooking on Saturday.
We're up and down in the weather department. Yesterday it got up into the 60's and today and tomorrow we'll be hanging in the low 30's with a cold wind. It's Spring. At least we haven't had a dumping of heavy wet snow.

My daughter has spring break this week, and my husband was able to get yesterday off so we took my daughter and her best friend to the Philadephia Zoo. Unfortunately, there were a lot of exhibits closed which was disappointing, but the kids still had a good time. We even went to one of my favorite restaurants and did outdoor dining afterward. It was a bit cool so the outdoor area was fairly empty, but the indoor area was packed! They had every other table filled, which felt too risky to me but obviously lots of people feel differently.
I can't imagine feeling comfortable with indoor dining until we've been fascinated which will probably be a while yet. Even with NJ allowing 55+ to get the vaccine this month, we still don't make the cut. I'm hoping they open it up to everyone in May.
It feels like it's been a tiring week so far. My family left on Sunday, we had a bunch of errands, including getting the car serviced on Monday, then the zoo yesterday. I've had a bunch of work to catch up on today, as well a review to do tonight. I have physical therapy tomorrow morning but after that I'm hoping things calm down for the rest of the week.

Hope things are still going ok for everyone else...
So until at least April 19th my province is trying a "circuit-breaker" in order to try and curtail the rising case counts. I honestly don't think a 3week period is really long enough to try and stop transmission. Especially since I think it might have been implemented too late.
Just yesterday BC recorded it's highest ever 24hr new case count of 1013 new cases. We are not going in the right direction anymore.
I, myself, am still being a hermit in my place. I go out for shopping and work - and sometimes to visit my parents and occasionally my one other close contact. Other than that ... I'm keeping my distance from people. I'm still also waiting to see if my job counts me as an essential/front-line worker. If so I may be able to get first dose of vaccine earlier than those in my "age group"
One parent has already had their first dose of vaccine and the other will get their first shot later this month.
To all those who remembered the Snowbird crash in my city from May of 2020 the official cause was determined to have been a bird striking the engine shortly after take off.

April 1st is my least favorite day of the year. I always seem to get pranked as I am too trusting. I just hide out for the day.

It was 60 degrees on Tuesday. Today it's 42 with the wind making it feel like 32 degrees! Where did my spring go?

This is 'Groundhog's revenge' because so many laughed at 'Phil' when he predicted more winter weather sometime ago. Don't mess with groundhogs!

Spent the day kayaking the 12.5 mile stretch of the Salt River with 6 new people. Great time! I saw 5 groups of the wild Salt River horses, one river otter and 2 egrets. They were saying 90 today. Many families at the river dipping in to cool off. We did get some wind the 2nd half of the paddle so I am tired and sore tonight but it was a wonderful day. I’m trying to rehydrate as I didn’t drink enough of my fluids today.
