"Flowers for Your Grave," the pilot episode of Castle first aired on March 9, 2009. Were you watching?
I remember it well, but I didn't watch it until about five weeks after it aired. After seeing weeks of ads, I had actually said that I was too busy to watch it, but my husband decided to set up a season pass recording option for it on our Tivo. (Something he reminded me of for YEARS afterward.) It was about five weeks later when I finally sat down to watch it, and it's one of the few shows that hooked me from the first episode.
So what's your Castle story?

My husband and I had been to see Stephen Cannell for an author talk about his new book. He said he was going to be a guest on a new show called “Castle”. He said it was well written and reminded him of his shows writing. I was able to tell Andrew and Terri this at one of our Castle Cons. It meant a lot to them as Stephen had recently passed away. We watched the Pilot on the first night and we were hooked.

What a great series was and still is my favorite. I enjoy popping in my dvd and seeing a great memory and a great show one of the few where each and every actor did there best.

I had been seeing promos for the new show for about a month and every time I said to my husband that it looked like my kind of show. I'm not much of a TV watcher but I was determined not to miss this premier. While I was already hooked by the promos, after that first episode, I was a gonner! The rest, as they say, is history. . Not only did the show provide us with delightful entertainment for many years, but it also brought countless wonderful friends into my life!

I was hooked watching the promos. Unfortunately, I hold all series up to Castle and they fail miserably. I guess that is the downside, but, I enjoyed this Mona Lisa of a series tremendously. So, it can be done. I am ALWAYS hopeful.

My husband had seen the promos for it and said it looked like the kind of show I'd like. He also knew I was a Nathan fan. After seeing a promo myself, I knew it would be a good show. It turned out to be a great show, one of my favorites. I need to pull out the DVDs and watch the pilot again.

Ok is my math off? 2021-2009...12th anniversary not 11th LOL. You're right. I saw the anniversary on twitter and just reposted it here without thinking about the year. But it does feel as though we lost most of 2020 so maybe it makes sense.

I think it'd been on a year or 2 before I finally saw it. Nathan was so hot, and funny, and yet warm and caring too as he dealt with his mother & daughter. Castle & Beckett had such chemistry and I loved the banter. I bought the 1st 2 seasons on DVD to catch up. I was SO hooked!

I had watched the first seven or so episodes when I decided to go online to see when there would be a season 2...then I read it was "on the bubble" and could possibly be cancelled.
To put this in perspective, I was about four months pregnant, and upon reading that news I had a full on meltdown, including tears, and that's when my husband walked in. I'm not prone to dramatic meltdowns so he thought something was really wrong. You can imagine the look on his face when I explained my reaction was because of a TV show. Nothing like pregnancy hormones to keep things interesting!

I always tell my husband he has only himself to blame for my Castle obsession. I had not heard of it, knew nothing about it. My husband was a Nathan fan from Firefly, and he heard that Nathan had a new show. He checked out a few episodes but at that time it was not appointment television for us. Season 2--he wanted me to watch Vampire Weekend episode (because of the space cowboy costume). We watched, I thought it was a good show, but again not anything that we made it a point to watch; we would occasionally catch an episode here and there. At the end of season 3 (again, not regularly watching), I heard all the buzz after the season finale Knockout, so I looked around online to see what had happened. That was the point at which I got hooked. I spent the summer catching up on the first 3 seasons, and it was definitely appointment television for the rest of the series. It was also through my searching that summer that I came across the wonderful online Castle community, a community that has so enriched my life and brought me a very dear group of friends.
