Hi Everyone.... This nostalgic old home popped into my head last night as I was falling asleep listening to some music.... So, I thought I would re-activate and say "Hello"... I do miss you all, think of you from time to time, and remember the fun, oh, the fun, we had here in the hey-days of our beloved show. I hope you are all healthy amidst this wicked virus. My dear hubby works in it daily down at the inner-city hospital, and has received his two vaccines. He was quite sick with the second dose, but all is well. Our kids are grown; our eldest married 3.5 years ago, no grandchildren yet. They are enjoying life. Our youngest is finishing up college - this is his last semester. My mother-in-law has passed, my mom is showing her age physically, I am pretty well, albeit gained too much weight this past year. All in all, life is fine, and we are thankful. And probably the most fun to report is that me and darling hubs have been to Paris twice! I adore Paris! I still haven't watched past mid-season 7 of Castle. Perhaps one day I will. Just can't do it yet... I have a bitter taste in my mouth, to say the least, about the proposed cuts that were made regarding Stana, Tamela, and the direction the show was headed. We fans deserved better, but I will quit at the risk of sounding selfish. We are undergoing renovations of almost the entire first floor of our home - complete kitchen remodel, new dining room and living room floors, new trim work, paint, light fixutes, the works. It's been a long time coming. It is fun and exhausting all at the same time. Things are everywhere! LoL! And living without a stove and sink in the kitchen for over six weeks now... I never thought I'd say it, but I do believe I'm tired of eating take-out. lol... I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I did look around a bit - it is wonderful to see that some things never change -- the old names and "ways of speaking" were a wonderful sight to behold and those of you whom I've met in person, well, I can "hear" you writing. XOXOX ~Kriss

Hi Kriss,
Welcome back! I’m glad all is mostly well with your family and that your husband has both his vaccines, especially in his line of work. I can’t believe your youngest is graduating college this year! Time really does fly.
As for Castle, I love the show but pretend it ended with the season 7 finale. As far as I’m concerned, season 8 was all a bad dream that I’d prefer to forget and doing so helps me enjoy the rest of the series.
Congrats and condolences on the renovations. I’m sure it will be great once it’s done but it’s always a heck of a thing to get through when your house is torn apart for weeks or months and you're trying to live in the middle of it. I think I saw something elsewhere about you building an outdoor enclosure for your kitties. How is that going?
And I completely understand about the weight gain! Quarantine has been hell on diet and exercise.
Stay well and stay safe and feel free to pop in any time. - Christine

Hey Kriss, What a surprise to see your post! Although our numbers have dwindled here, we still have a good time sharing entertainment news as well as keeping up on people's daily lives. It's a positive and supportive place to belong! Hope you chime in when you can.

Yay, thank you for the warm welcome Christine & nathanfan!!! It was comforting to see the familiar faces, albeit dwindled. It's still nice to see some things haven't changed! I'm with you, Christine, on Castle. I am closer than ever to watching the last two seasons, however. I miss my show. And as soon as our renovations are finished, I want to do some re-watching of the whole series. Maybe then I will finish the series; or maybe it will renew the pain to even get to the end of even Season 7. Remains to be seen. lol... YES, we did build a "catio". There is some completion work that needs to come with that, but we are waiting until the weather breaks. Or until this cold snap is over, at least. We want to add some perching shelves and a little swing in the middle and some other climbing activities. To preface this, we are "foster failures" with a local rescue. We took in a pregnant mom back in early spring last year, and when it came time to adopt out her kittens, we couldn't let them go. We kept momma, three kittens, and this added four to our four we already had rescued. We are now a family of eight cats. Yes, EIGHT! We LOVE them, and they are safe here until their time to cross the rainbow bridge. The momma cat was borderline feral, so we were going to make sure she had a home for real. So, as the story goes, we are no longer fostering. lol... Our home is full, and the Catio adds some extra space for them. I'm hoping as soon as the renovations are over everyone will settle in. The cold weather doesn't help. Our two that like to go outside are feeling stir crazy. We are supposed to be at -12 overnight here in a couple of days. And yes, our youngest... he is actually a year and one semester longer in college than planned. He switched schools, AND his major. He is 24 and will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. Time needs to slow down. I'm approaching 55 years old myself! How can THAT be... ? Nathanfan... as soon as I can talk hubs into PAYING for a service to allow me to finish "When Calls the Heart" I will resume watching. The last episode I saw was the last one of a season ( I can't even remember which one it was) where ..... spoiler......... Jack passed. And right before the Lori Laughlin scandal. I'm eager to resume this series, to say the least....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels really nice to be here chatting!

Kriss, When Calls The Heart has definitely become my new passion and in particular, I adore Kevin McGarry, who comes on as the new Mountie in town about halfway through season 6. The man is drop-dead gorgeous and IMO, a fantastic actor!
I just started getting the Hallmark channel in October. I signed up for a new streaming service called FRENDLY TV. It has 15 channels, including all 3 of the Hallmark channels and the UP network and Pixl TV along with the weather channel and some sport channel and a few others. The bottom line is it's all family friendly TV. Best of all, the price is awesome! There are 3 levels of programming and they range in price from $5.99 a month to $9.99 a month, depending on how much storage time you want. There is no contract and there's a discount if you sign up for a year at a time. It's AWESOME! I can record and store all of the Hallmark programming I want!
The new season of When Calls The Heart starts on 2/21 and I think you'd want to see the parts you've missed before you watch it because a LOT has happened! I purchased all of the seasons through iTunes this past summer and binge watched it that way. You can buy each season separately if you want to do that for the 2 you've missed. I also know you can buy each season on DVDs. I have a friend who's done it that way and the sets come with bonus materials too.
I don't think I've ever been so impressed with the writing of a show as I have been with this one. The character development has been incredible and so believable and the way they weave the plots together is also fantastic. They also have an ensemble cast of actors that totally rock their parts! I hope the series continues for many more years! I'd also be more than happy to discuss the new episodes here if anyone else is interested!

Good to see you back CastleKat. Wow and I thought I was the cat lady. You win I just signed up for this year's bottle baby nursery at the AZ Humane Society. We start the last week of March with this years kitten batch. I do still have all 4 of the kittens that came around last July. the 2 parents are now gone. I hope the kids hang around. One was gone for a couple of months but showed up in Jan with some major scrapes on her face. I keep them outside. My 2 indoor cats look at them through the screen door. My indoor cats like to hiss at the poor outdoor cats. the outside cats have always been too skiddish to capture and get their shots so they are outside. I might have to get your plans for your outside cat enclosure. that might be good.

Hi Kriss, So nice to hear that you and yours are doing well Rikki and I have been hermits for almost a year now(LOL) and are doing well. We do what geezers should and distance, mask, and stay mostly home. We zoom with family but REALLY miss being with them and hugging our grandkids. We get our 2nd dose on Tuesday(16th). Most of our pals in the geezer network say they were tired and achy after the 2nd shot so we will see what we will see We so agree with you and Christine about Castle. After S6, it was basically all downhill and the end of a wonderful show and fandom. I still have my DVD of S7 in the wrapper and have never watched it. When they did not give us the wedding we deserved at the end of S6, they destroyed their own creation. It was just insane. LOL, as you can tell, I'm still pissed. Nuf said Give our best to Earnest too!!!!

He, both of us, also appreciated the sympathy card from you & Rikki when his mom passed. Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful. Snaili mail and taking the time to send notes through the mail is a lost love, but I am guilty of not doing it myself. I believe our friend Bobbie is the best I've seen and experienced through the years at keeping that graciousness alive. I hope to see you & Rikki again! Take care!

I'll peek in from time to time! THANK YOU for the sweet, warm, and sun-shiney welcome!

They are a perfect pet! My opinion... lol... Yay for you doing so much to help - that is why we now have 8! Helping! And getting attached! lol... Our catio.... my good friend from high school is extremely handy. He "free-handed" creating, designing, and building our catio. It came with no plans other than what was in his, and our, heads, and turned into a darling space for the kitties. It is not yet finished, so later this spring when it has all the inside trimmings finished, I'll share some photos here. The kitties have enjoyed it already, when they can be out there without the weather being too harsh. It is not a four season room. But on milder winter days they do enjoy it. Right now, they are bored. Even with each other to play with. Winter can be so long.

I don't know if you're interested, but we saved Java's Fashion thread from the 12th. Sometimes I go back and reread it and it always makes me smile. He is missed. possibilityforjoy.proboards.com/thread/71/ot-javarian-fashion-advice
