I have no idea how accurate it is but if you go to the Castle page on IMDB, this is what they list as the summary for Castle Season 8 Episode 1: "After Rick's father disappears Kate and Rick investigate. That story line really needs to take shape and progress quickly. Hopefully TPW and A.H. will move the show along. Feels like we have stagnated in the story department.

I hope that the new show runners can give us a better explanation about the crazy disappearance so we can move on from that crazy storyline. It would make sense that Daddy Castle would have been searching for his son of be were missing for 2 months. I don't think he will make an appearance.
I read that Stana is finishing up her 2nd summer film. This will give them a chance to film around her for a few days. This might also explain why the photo shoot was delayed?

Hmm...so now I'm curious. Was the summary: - simply incorrect
- correct but leaked prematurely
- purposefully leaked to tease fans

I do love a good mystery. Unfortunately we probably won't get our answer until September. I think that part of the scenario of the mystery is whether or not Beckett has indeed left the force and is running for office. If Rick and Kate are investigating, that means, I think, that she did not leave the 12th and is still with the force. Maybe they gave away too much and now we know too much. The Castle season opener always reveals to us what carry over, if any, there was from the summer to the fall. By insinuating that the two are on the job, it kinda lets us know which way the storyline is unfolding. And this is a two parter, so it unveils some of the vacation mystery. I for one am wondering if Kate is in politics or is involved in the politics of the job. |

I honestly don't see them purtsuing the political route.
You do realize that running for State Senate would require Kate to relocate to ALBANY for much of the year if she won the election, right? That might work in fanfic, but I doubt that they would want to run a "Kate away from the NYPD" thing twice in less than two years.
Kate taking over as Captain would make a lot more sense logistically, and not overload the show's budget like they did at the beginning of season 6. This isn't something she can just quit if she doesn't like it, and getting impeached would ruin her career.
Just saying.

Hmm...well there was a question about this IMDB summary (it has since been pulled from the site) at TVLine and this was Matt Webb Mitovich's response: "Can you confirm if this is the plot to Castle‘s season premiere? –CBO I can confirm that that could quite possibly not be more wrong."So take that for what it's worth. I'm still hoping there's some truth to this summary but I've decided not to get my hopes up. I was talking actually appear, but yeah, I see your point. But another issue to ponder: How would Castle and Beckett KNOW HUnt was missing if he didn't show up in the episode at some point? (dead or alive) "missing" seems to be a normal state of affairs for him, and since Kate works in HOMICDE not Missing persons, it would not necessarily be their case to work. Since he's CIA or former CIA it wouldn't exactly be their jurisdiction unless fake Jenkins shows up. |
