I know this thread is a little early but, hey, Hallmark is starting their Xmas movies early so what the heck!
My friend asked me if I would do this again this year. I skipped last year and she missed it so here goes:
1, THE BRIGHTEST STAR by Fern Michaels. A woman tries to save her family business and is writing a biography of the man whose company is helping to drive them out of business. His son is quite a different matter. Interesting story so far.
2.HAPPILY THIS CHRISTMAS-happily inc by Susan Mallory. Neighbors become involved when the man asks for help in dealing with his pregnant daughter who comes to stay while her Marine husband finishes a tour of duty. To complicate things, they have not seen each other in years.
I REALLY enjoy reading feel good stories at this time of year. With Covid, the election, and the upheaval in all our lives this year, I hope all of you find a story to enjoy and share with us here at APFJ.

The only holiday themed books I've read over the last few years were Elin Hilderbrand's Winter Street series. It's four books following a family who runs an inn. There's both romance and drama, and I really enjoyed the entire series. I think I started reading it because it was one that you recommended, geezer2008! Once I finish reading my current murder mystery (Troubled Blood, the fifth book in the Cormoran Strike detective series by Robert Galbraith, which I love!), I may have to peruse your other recommendations for a good, holiday read.

Winter Street was so GOOD. I am disappointed that she has not written another Holiday novel since then.

THANK YOU Geezer! I'll get going on your recommendations and I hope you and anyone else will add to the list. I also like a feel-good read this time of year.

My all time favorite was The Christmas Train by David Baldacci. My 3rd book of this year is Jingle All The Way by Debbie Macomber. I felt that her last couple Xmas books were blah but this one is quite good IMO. Enjoy

I watched some episodes of Cormoran Strike quite a while ago but haven't seen any more and now I don't even remember where I saw them. Did I miss some or did it get cancelled?

ibmjas, they did a series in the UK that covered the first three books. I think it was only shown here in the States on Cinemax and I own it on iTunes. I liked the series, but not nearly as much as the actual books. I haven't heard whether they will continue the series. Now there is book 4 and 5 to cover. I just finished Book 5, "Troubled Blood" and I really enjoyed it. The descriptions of the murders can get pretty dark and graphic, but the mysteries are fun and I really love the characters. It's a real slow burn with the main two characters but I've enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to more.

The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans is a wonderful book. It rates right up there with The Christmas Train as an all time favorite Xmas story

Well, I'd planned on holding out until Thanksgiving to get started on my Christmas novels but I gave in during a weak moment and dived in! Here's what I've read so far:
The Brightest Star by Fern Michaels. I really didn't enjoy this one at all. It's probably because I set myself up thinking it was going to be a story about one thing and it turned out to focus on something entirely different. Just disappointing.
Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson. This one has a touch of fantasy but it's not over the top and I found it to be a very enjoyable read. It's put out by Hallmark Publishing and I think there may be a Hallmark movie from the book coming up in December. I think it would make a great movie.
The Clause In Christmas by Rachael Bloome. This was definitely my favorite of the three! It had a host of delightful characters and a well crafted plot that kept things interesting. I'd highly recommend this one.

LOL, off subject, but I just finished the last Rook-Heat book. I reread all the books and print media from the years of Castle in 2020. It was very enjoyable for me and fun to remember all the wonders of the early Castle years
