It was wonderful to get a call to go in and bottle feed kittens yesterday. They were up to 57 in the bottle baby nursery. We had 4 puppies too. They were all so new their eyes were not even open. I did feed one puppy 2 times during my shift. I do prefer my little kittens. I had 2 groups with their eyes still closed. They are so precious. We also had lots who were starting to eat "gruel" (solid food) on their own and they would be going to foster homes today or tomorrow. This is high kitten season here so they really need help. They can only have one volunteer per shift with covid. We bring our own masks and have reusable gowns that we can wipe down with the same disinfectant we use on the station where we feed. We put them in the wash after shift. I bring my own slip on shoes so I don't need to use the shoe coverings. We do use a new pair of gloves for each kennel of animals.
