I can't believe it's already July 20th! The month is just flying by. We can now go inside our local library. You must wear a mask and they make you use hand sanitizer when you arrive. They only allow so many people at a time, and encourage you to go directly to the section of interest and not wander too much. Kate was thrilled to get back to the kids' section. We had already set aside one book online from a series she's reading but when she saw a big book on Greek Mythology, we got that too. She loves Greek Mythology. As we walked home, (we live about six blocks from the library), two women sitting outdoors noticed the books and were very excited to hear the the library was open again. It's funny the little things that can bring people together. Online ComicCon starts this coming Thursday. I'll be covering the Nathan Fillion panel (on Sunday) for TV Fanatic. It's still warm here. Currently 94 degrees and about 50% humidity. That's pretty normal for NJ this time of year. Yesterday, I walked to a local restaurant to pick up some take-out for our family. (It was 96 yesterday). When I got there they had forgotten one part of our order so I had to wait. There's an outdoor area with an awning and benches so I said I'd just have a seat until it was done. The owner asked me where my car was. He said I could wait in the car with the AC on and he'd bring it out to me. When I told him I'd walked he looked at me as though I had three heads! But I'm one of the lucky ones this time of the year. I like the heat and love that the heat and humidity brings lots of flowers and greenery. Come find me in January and I'll be hibernating under multiple blankets while shivering. Let us know how you're doing.

Wisconsin
Cases- 44847(+6941) Deaths- 865(+39)
Brown County
Cases- 3629(+324) Deaths- 47(+2)
Our cases and deaths continue to accelerate. State and local cannot agree on anything so nothing happens. Happy to say that many businesses are now requiring masks and taking things into their own hands . I had car work done yesterday. My computers went all hinky. 2 weeks ago when they performed a recall on my car, masks were not required. Yesterday, it was no masks, no service.
Seeing that my daughter and family all just tested negative and were isolating and we are so careful, we acted NORMAL for 5 days. We had movie night and dinner at their home. Then, we had the twins here for a couple of days. We had their fave foods, watched movies, played games, went swimming, and Grandpa gave them motorcycle rides. It was WONDERFUL to be normal and be ourselves, if only for a few days. We are now back to masking and distancing as they had to resume their normal lives.
Tomorrow , we are going to Book Club in the park with distancing and masks, as needed. It will be really nice to socialize with real people We will have takeout for lunch. It's a really big day for us, LOL
On Saturday, I will take a ride and get lunch at a grocery store. Another big day
Be safe and have a good week

Arizona cases are now up to 150,609 with 2,974 deaths. Maricopa County, my county, surpassed 100,000 cases for the first time today. There is no end in sight. Our governor seems intent on opening schools Aug. 17 in spite of our terrible numbers. The Superintendent of Public Instruction wants the numbers to go down for two weeks before reopening. Most parents don't want to send their kids to school yet. We'll see who wins this battle.
Things have returned to 'normal' now that Las Vegas is just a memory. We're all happy to get back to our usual routines, as limited as they are. We're staying close to home and enjoying our pool and seeing our kids. Uneventful, but that's how we like it, lol.
Stay safe everyone, and stay cool.

This has been an eventful week. My sister-in-law, her daughter and husband and his Mother from Florida arrived on Monday from Delaware on their "Road Trip". They are in a car I figured if any of them were positive, they were all positive so I just went with the exposure. They left the next morning for Vegas and on to Reno then Oregon. I pray they make it back home safe and well. Today started the renovations to my kitchen. They are taking out the sink and counter tops today. Tomorrow I get my new ones and the next day they hook things back up. My cats were enjoying the empty counter tops. Presto, my high climber, jumped on top of my wine glass cabinet and then up to the plant shelf above the cabinets. Now if he could just dust and clean while he was up there...

My daughter's MIL is still on a ventilator. She's had good days and bad days, but now they are saying if she doesn't turn the corner in the next few days they will have to think about long term care and maybe a tracheotomy. Last weekend they had to take FIL to the ER. He hadn't had symptoms before but was coughing and having trouble breathing. He's been responding well to oxygen thru nasal cannula and may be able to go home in a week or so. Of course the MIL is the family glue. It's scary. Indiana set a record for number of cases today. Our county has 7 deaths which is good but we held at 2 for a long time so it's increasing. The governor announced a statewide mask order so more people are wearing them now but so many wear them below their noses. I bought a bit of material with pickups and pumpkins so I can make a mask for fall. Masks will be the new fashion statement.

ibmjas, I'm sorry your family is going through this. I hope your daughter's FIL continues to get better and her MIL turns a corner soon. My family buys new masks each month. We have a couple of Harry Potter themed masks, and then we got these last week. Mine is the Snoopy one, my daughter has the kitty face, and my husband got a grey camo, but he took it to work with him before I could take a photo. I figure we'll each get a new mask each month. My daughter will need them for school, so she might as well have a few fun ones to choose from.

Ibmjas I continue to pray for your family members.
My kitchen is finished. Now to put everything back. I’m trying to shift things around. It’s hard when it’s been the same for 20 years.
I also had 17 solar panels installed this week. They still need to be inspected then they will start making energy🌈😎
I’ve started making “plarn” balls. I will start crocheting mats next week. I have been cutting the plastic bags into strips so I can make the balls. I will talk more about this next week.

We had a very nice time at Book Club in the park. There were 11 of us and we sat in a large circle. Masks and distancing were the rule as we are all seniors. We will probably do this for the next 2 months and then see where we are at. It was really nice to interact with real people, LOL We treated ourselves to takeout box lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our day.
This coming week is groceries. When did any of us think that a trip to the grocery store would be something we looked forward to??
