We are now in monsoon season in the desert Southwest. This will hopefully bring the desert some much needed rains. It also brings giant dust storms. Here is a good picture of one approaching Phoenix. www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=06d8a7a2e775

I saw one of these hitting Phoenix as my plane was landing. We just got to the gate when it hit. It was amazing to see it coming from the air. If you are driving it is best to take an exit and get off the road until it passes.

This reminds me of some of the pictures my sister took of approaching sandstorms when she was in Africa. They are both amazing and frightening.
