I can't believe June is almost over. That went by way too fast! Just got news that my cousins in Missouri had their baby yesterday! Baby Oliver had to be induced about a month early due to low amniotic fluid. He's only 4 lbs. 8oz, but otherwise doing well so we're all grateful for that. Yesterday, my daughter's friend, Tyler and his younger sister came over to visit. The parents social distanced in the front yard while the kids hung out together on the porch with masks on. Tyler even brought Kate a small present. It was very sweet, but afterwards my husband wondered that if boys were bringing our daughter presents at age 10, what is 15 going to be like! As for Covid updates, my cousin in Texas posted to her Facebook friends that "maybe" they should all consider wearing masks for 30 days to see if it really helps. I pointed out that in NJ we've had mandatory mask wearing since mid-April. In April the state had 96,000 new cases. In May we had 40,000 new cases. So far in June we've had 10,000 new cases, so I'd say mask wearing and social distancing works. My only fear is that with the warmer weather and our low case numbers, that people will become lax and we'll see another spike in cases, but only time will tell. The weather is just beautiful today. 85 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. Absolutely perfect, in my opinion. Now it's your turn. Let us know how your week is starting out.

I'm going to escape this week and go to the mountains with my two kitties. Hopefully my friend with the cat rescue will capture "Salmon" Sammie for short, (yes, I named my orange stray) and Mom and her 4 kittens so they can be fixed and released. the 4 kittens will hopefully get a foster home for a couple more weeks until they are big enough to be fixed. Covid is going crazy here in Arizona. I wear a mask when I venture out and stay home as much as I can. I'm on hold with MIM (Musical instrument Museum, MIM.Org) and the Arizona Humane Society where I feed bottle baby kittens. Hopefully by the time I return from the mountains things will be better? My niece, her husband, his Mom, and her Mom are planning to drive their car from Delaware to Oregon and back. I think they are crazy with what is happening. They will stop here in the evening and leave the next morning. If they are coming this far I would have hoped for at least 1 full day? Oh well, not a trip I would even consider at this time.

Hi All, Wisconsin - 28,058 (+2,990) cases 777 (+32) deaths
Brown County - 2825 (+244) cases 42 (+3) deaths
Our cases in WI are ramping up more quickly with the onset of summer. My SIL and I had a great ride on Sunday. We noticed in Algoma, on Lake Michigan that the beach was fairly crowded with few masks in sight. That was just one beach of a great many here in the State. I don't understand people. Masks and social distancing work. Do all these people have to lose or almost lose someone dear before they get the message??? I am beginning to think that the more threatening disease in this country is stupidity from the top down. JMO
Did our 2 week grocery shopping today. Stores were well stocked with everything pretty much. We see lots of masks when we shop early in the day which makes us happy. LOL, we always reward ourselves with a pizza on shopping day for a job well done!!
We had a great ride on Sunday in beautiful weather. We ordered lunch takeout and ate in a park. I have a great SIL and I enjoy spending 1 on 1 time with him. He seems to feel the same and I am thankful for that. His boss does not believe in this covid crap so expects people to come to the office at least a couple days a week. He's actually upset that Mike cannot travel to Canada like he did before. Scary stuff Our daughter gets to work at home at least til September but thinks it may be longer.
We may go to a Farmers Market out on the Indian Reservation this week. They are doing it very smartly. You stay in your car and drive a loop drive. You pull up to the vendor, check his stuff, and tell them what you want. All vendors are masked and gloved. We will be too. Pretty ingenious.
Congrats, Christine. NJ did it right. They proved that masking and social distancing work. Other states should look at what NJ and NY have done. AZ, CA, FL, and TX are disasters in progress. Nuf of that!
A Happy and safe week to All

geezer, you're right. Arizona is a disaster! Our governor has finally instituted a 'pause' on some things. Bars, gyms, theaters, water parks, and Salt River Tubing have closed as of 8 PM yesterday. Still no statewide mask mandate. He's made a few PSAs about staying home where it;s safe and wear a mask and social distance when out in public.
Our latest numbers: 17,215 cases and 1,641 deaths. Our VP was supposed to come here today and has been changed to tomorrow. Luckily one of his bigger events has been canceled. He finally decided to start wearing a mask in public. Better late than never? More like too little too late, considering he's supposed to be in charge of the virus task force.
Our Social Worker daughter will continue working from home through July. I'm guessing she'll stay home all summer and maybe longer. Her wedding is still on unless the Vegas hotels close down again. As I've said before, if not for her wedding, my husband and I wouldn't be traveling now. Luckily it's a small wedding (no more than 20), so we should be OK with masks and staying away from people.
