What a busy day! We just got home not too long ago. Our day started this morning when we had to go back to my daughter’s school to drop off her books and pick up what was left in her desk. Actually, it started before that as we swung by our neighbor’s and grabbed their kids stuff which they left in bags on their porch. (Both parents were working this morning and couldn’t make it to the assigned swap-out hours at school.) Kudos to the school for making this drive-up/swap-out process as easy as it could have been. We turned in all the school text books and library books, but I wasn’t expecting to get so much stuff back! Books, journals, art projects, etc. Then we got rid of our old TV. The recycling center has been closed for electronics, so our old TV has been shoved into a corner. I was thrilled to finally get rid of it today, even though the first county recycling center we went to wasn’t open per the hours listed and we had to head to a different location, but at least it’s no longer collecting dust in my house! Then we dropped off the End of the Year gifts to my daughter’s two teachers. They live about half an hour apart, but it was great to see them (even while we all wore masks) and get to see their reactions when they saw their special photo books of their students. In between the drop offs we stopped for takeout burgers and fries and ate them outside. It’s a gorgeous day today. About 90 degrees with a light breeze and sunny. I just love the warm weather. Finally, I went for my Covid-19 antibody test. It was a finger prick test and only took about 5 minutes. I turned out to be negative. Happy to finally be home. So how is everyone else’s week starting out?

Maricopa country finally has a mask requirement if you are out. I did a quick trip to Fry's for milk (88c half gallons's) and 88c personal watermelons. Well they were totally out of the melons darn. I did stock up on milk. With the new order I still saw 2 people shopping without masks. They want you to confront them so they can spout off nasties...I just walked by. I am working on getting quartz counter tops and a new faucet for my kitchen. I figure the 1997 counter tops need a little modernization. Quartz is the "new" thing. They say it is much easier to keep sanitary. with covid...why not. I am also getting a new faucet. The new look is the big swoop thing. I am getting a quartz sink also that will be dark gray color. I am also getting rid of the bar around the kitchen that we never used. It should open things up and give it a fresh look. It's a good thing my RV is parked next to the house. I will be without the kitchen for up to 3 weeks for this. No water in the sink. No dishwasher. I'm more concerned about how the cats will go crazy crawling around everywhere exploring. I started feeding 2 stray cats. I figured it would keep the roof rats and scorpions at bay. Well 2 days ago Momma brought her 4 kittens with her. I am now in contact with my friend who works with a cat rescue in the area. We will be trapping them and getting them fixed so we don't get even more kittens. I hope to keep at least one outside to keep the vermin at bay.

Wisconsin - 25068(+2136) cases 745(+51) deaths Brown County - 2581(+112) cases 39(+1) deaths
Our daughter and the twins visited on Father's Day. We kept our distance but they made it very special. We visited, took a walk around the pond, cards and gifts, and soda and cookies for all. When they left, we took the chance and hugged and kissed them. It's been over 3 months since we did that and I just could not take it anymore. It felt SO GOOD to do that. We will go back to being safe now.
It's a rainy week here. The only good day is supposed to be Thursday. Rikki and I plan to go play mini golf and get takeout. LOL, that's a REALLY big day for us. It's like a vacation to get out of the house. It's sad that we look forward to grocery shopping every 2 weeks. I'm a little more saner because I can go off on my motorcycle every week which helps. Our Book Club has decided to meet in July. We'll bring our chairs and meet in a park with social distancing. We are looking forward to that.
We also continue to do our exercises and walk. We also do our hobbies religiously. So many things are beyond our control these days that it feels good to control something!!
A safe and healthy week to ALL

Our daughter's 30th birthday is today. It was 118 the day she was born (122 the day we left the hospital, Phoenix's hottest temp ever). The forecast said only 111 today, lol. At her request, I'm making nachos for dinner and put the recipe on the recipe thread. She is the one getting married in Las Vegas July 11. We made our hotel reservation the other day. The room rate was greatly reduced and we'll have to plan dinner once we get to Vegas, not knowing what will be open then. We'll all be wearing our masks. Believe me, if not for the wedding, we wouldn't be traveling. At least we're driving and not flying. It's just under 300 miles, about 6 hours, and we're riding with our daughters and their boyfriends.
58,194 cases and 1,394 deaths. In my county, 31,650 cases and 674 deaths. The President is now in Yuma inspecting a completed section of the border wall, along with our governor and other dignitaries. None of them are wearing masks. People attending the rally later need to wear a mask to get in (after signing a waiver not to sue if they get sick), but don't have to wear the mask once inside. There are no words!

I'm grateful that the numbers here are declining but I am fearful of a second wave, especially after we've been so vigilant to get these numbers down.
This week I spoke with both a lab tech who does Covid antibody tests and a nurse who works with Covid patients in the ICU. They both said something similar in that there should be a plan to track who has Covid antibodies, how long they have them, and what effect it has on them so we can better understand what's happening. Unfortunately, there is no such tracking in place and without the government stepping in to make it a priority there's no telling when or if it will happen.
When my antibody test came back negative, I was told that it could mean I didn't have it when I was sick in January, or that I did but I no longer have antibodies because they have no idea how long people retain the antibodies. That seems like something we should know by now.
On a lighter note, our town held an emergency services parade for the elementary school graduates yesterday. There were police and fire trucks with lights and sirens, along with several cars with their teachers that the students hadn't seen since March. It was a very nice gesture by the town and I know my daughter enjoyed it.

Went mini golfing, had takeout lunch in a park, and went to Bath and Body Works yesterday. All was done safely and carefully. It was nice to see how hard the businesses were trying to make it work. It was wonderful to get out
I'm going on motorcycle ride with SIL on Sunday. He just bought a Harley. Should be fun.

As a guy who was raised in Iowa, the link below really offers a nice momentary relief from the way things seem to be going presently. In my case, the '2020 Great Canada Fishing Adventure' has been canceled because of the restrictions. Not the least of which is the continued extension of the USA/Canada border crossing closure for '...non-essential travel [fishing is actually listed as an example...]' plus two week quarantine if circumstances permit a person's entry. Honestly, this annual event certainly seems essential my brother and me! www.facebook.com/proudtobeafarmer12/photos/a.112766050421094/141309214233444/
