Hi All, I hope everyone out there is doing well. All weekend, I’ve been thinking about an astrology report I heard back in January. I don’t remember any of the particulars but I recall them saying that 2020 would be a year like no other. I thought they meant it in a good way! I don’t think I could have been more wrong. One of our elderly neighbors passed away from Covid-19. So far, my small town has 110 cases and 9 deaths. (County is at 4,043 cases and 419 deaths - State is 160,918 cases and 11,721 deaths). But the #s are rising at a much slower rate than before so I'm holding out hope that that is a good sign. For those of you who don’t know, I’m a writer and I recently wrote a Christmas script geared for Hallmark. My agent just heard back from a producer who’d recently read it. They said if this were last year they would have made this film but right now, the story requires too many people for multiple scenes and they don’t foresee any production company being comfortable with that for at least a year or more. It’s great to hear that they like it but it's still very disappointing. Also, we just found out that the home we rent is going to require some serious repair which may mean we need to move and we really don’t have the money for that right now. Between all of that and what I’m seeing on the news, the world feels very off balance right now. I just keep hoping it will right itself in more positive ways soon. How are things with all of you? Anyone have some good stories? (Or share your bad ones because sometimes it helps to share.) Stay safe and healthy!

I posted this last night: Arizona is now under a state mandated curfew that began at 8pm tonight and goes until 5am Monday. It's supposed to be in effect all week! This is due to vandalism and looting at a few stores at Scottsdale Fashion Square mall. There was damage to the Sandra Day O'Connor Courthouse in downtown Phoenix the other night, but no restrictions were put in place after that. Only time will tell whether or not the curfew lasts the whole week. There are now 20,123 cases and 917 deaths from the virus. Of those numbers, 9937 cases and 423 deaths are in my county which includes Phoenix and surrounding suburbs. On a lighter note, paper products are now available at the grocery store where we shop the most. Shelves in other departments are also filling up. I hope hoarding is a thing in the past. We've had unseasonably hot weather for May. The good thing is our pool finally warmed up to 85*, so it's not a shock to get in and swim, LOL. I hope everyone here is staying safe and healthy. I almost forgot...Christine, even though your script can't be used now (what an accomplishment), fingers crossed that another opportunity will come your way very soon!

DrvrTrnr, Yes, I know you’re right about that. Having no connections, I am lucky to have gotten this far. I have an agent who believes in me and producers who are willing to read my work. That’s ahead of a lot of writers out there. It’s just frustrating because this isn’t the first script I’ve gotten close to having produced and then something out of my control stopped it from moving forward. But in the scheme of what’s happening in the world right now, I know this isn’t of the utmost importance. It’s just frustrating, as getting a “win” would be a big boost to me and my family. It feels like it’s been an incredibly long week. Boy, is it really only Tuesday?

Wisconsin- 18,543 cases 595 deaths Brown County- 2319 cases 37 deaths We never got our results for being tested. Rikki wants to just wait them out and see if they ever get back to us. Fine by me as we feel good with no symtoms. We are at 2 weeks and counting on test results. We went grocery shopping early this morning. More than half the people were masked. We replenish every 2 weeks and the stores are very well stocked this week. Even the meat quality is getting back to normal. Now that TV shows are dying off, we can work on our Netflix and On Demand lists of movies. We watched the Charlies Angels movie the other evening. Wisconsin PBS also has some really good shows to see. It's nice to sit on patio and read or for Rikki to work on crafts when weather permits. That can be a problem this year. Yesterday, we had a high of 62 and today it is supposed to hit 91. Go figure. I'm now able to get out and motorcycle each week which is great. It just feels weird not to be able to stop for anything but gas. I have to pack a lunch as I am not comfortable going in a restaurant yet. This new normal is quite strange yet!! Be Safe. Stay Healthy all

I am enjoying my pool for early morning swims. It is so nice to walk out the bedroom door and swim. I get up early and swim until the sun peeks over the roof. I don’t do sun so that is my signal to get out. It is great excersize and I don’t have to worry about other people. My 2 kitties sit in the window and watch. My new two stray kitties sit and watch the strange being swimming in their large water bowl. 😻 They do run and hide when I climb out. A friend from my camping group came over, after our weekly gathering of some of the group, for coffee this morning. He helped me sort through my husbands workshop. I didn’t know what some of the power tools were. I had gone thousand cleaned up a lot and had a stack of containers that needed the power tool restored to their proper cases. I feel like I’m making progress 😎 I think I can now have a good chance at finding a tool I might need to fix something or create something fun out of wood. I use to love to work with wood.i did make a small cabinet for my RV to hold my espresso machine...I’m serious about my morning espresso👀😜

geezer2008, I can't believe you haven't gotten those results back yet. That's crazy. It also defeats the purpose of the public getting tested so they know to quarantine and not spread it to others. Someone who is positive but without symptoms could spread it to a lot of people in two weeks time. I donated blood today. I do it somewhat regularly but my local donation site has been closed since March. Today, it was by appointment only and you had to wear a mask. They took my temperature at the door. Everything was the same as normal except there were a few more medical questions and everything was spread apart more than normal. The biggest difference was once you were done. Normally, they bring you to a communal table where everyone who just donated sits and chats together while drinking their juice and eating their snacks. Today, everyone had their own small table six feel apart and someone wearing a mask brought you your snack. It was the only place you were allowed to remove your mask so you could eat and drink. We still chatted, but from our own separate tables. It seems like we all look forward to our free pack of Lorna Doone cookies!

PTVJ, congratulations on writing a great script. So sorry the timing sucks. Any other year they'd be churning out Christmas movies. Hopefully they will keep you in mind.
My son got his FedEx mask. He said it is heavy and tight so he's been wearing the cotton one I made for him.
I've been seeing the damage from the looting on the news and it's horrible, but a friend on Facebook walked around downtown Indy showing all the businesses whose windows were busted and interiors ransacked and contents stolen. Monument circle was covered with graffiti. There's something a little more gut-wrenching when it's your hometown.
They've cancelled our county fair. It was going to be the 100th fair and they had a lot of special things planned. Frankly though it's the lamest county fair I've ever seen. They also cancelled the state fair but will apparently have the 4H livestock portion.
I'd say at least 80% of the people don't wear masks. Several that do don't cover their noses. My friends who are mostly over 60 & 70 are making plans to all go out to eat, get together for game nights, hold golf meetings, etc. Some have started playing cards regularly. I keep telling them I'm not interested and they act like I'm nuts and tell me I can't live my life in fear. My husband is even planning a big family BBQ on the 4th with everyone we haven't seen for a while. Several family members have immune deficiencies. I don't understand why everyone acts like this is over. Pretty much everything is going to open up tomorrow - bars, bowling alleys, whatever. I guess we'll see what happens in a couple of weeks.

I have been sewing "Reading Buddies" this week for Kids Need to Read. This organization gets books out to underfunded schools and library's. They started giving out "Reading Buddies" a few years ago as many of these kiddos don't have adults who will read with them. This gives them someone to read their new book too. I of course had lots of help from my 2 kitties, especially Presto, my black cat who just has to be with me and help with whatever I am doing.

ibmjas I completely understand your feelings about the challenges of dealing with other people not taking precautions. Although we have a lot of cases and deaths here in NJ, our numbers are finally declining, which is great! But I fear we're headed for a second wave because people want to abandon the precautions that have gotten us here. Case in point, my cousin and her family went to visit her sister. They'd done this before, but it was just the two families in the back yard where they kept their distance on either side of the fire pit. Well, our state just said it was okay to have gatherings of up to 25 people (with proper precautions). When they got to her sister's home, they found her sister had invited up to 25 people. No one was wearing masks or keeping any sort of distance and one woman, a family friend, ran up to my cousin and hugged her saying, "Oh, I don't do this social distancing crap." Needless to say, I won't be visiting any of them in the near future.

tycho657, I'm jealous! This is the longest I've gone without a pet and I'm really missing the kitty love. We said we wouldn't adopt another pet until we were able to move into a bigger place and were more financially secure. I know that's the right decision but it sure is hard right now.
