Hi All, I hope everyone is safe and well. I know things can be different depending upon where you are in the country. marschg definitely has it worse than most on Long Island and we're a close second here in NJ. We're probably both seeing the same thing on the local news with make-shift hospitals and refrigerated trailers for the overflow of bodies and body bags being brought in. I hope the virus doesn't spread to the rest of the country the way it has here. I have extended family and friends who have the virus and it's scary. One couple was supposed to get married in May. They both got the virus. She was sick but got through it okay. His was much worse. He was hospitalized and they gave him the chloroquine but it almost killed him so they had to stop it. Now he's on some antibiotic cocktail but it thankfully seems to be working. They've rescheduled their wedding until the Fall. I just hope we get to do it then! On the upside, my immediate family is still well. My husband is working every day but so far so good. They've spread everyone out into offices that are now closed on their floor and are trying to move some people to work from home but there are so many extensive systems that it's not easy to set up. The online school is still going really well. My daughter plays video games and video chats with most of her friends. Her one good friend's mom is a nurse at a hospital. She's living in a friend's RV because she can't risk going home and possibly infecting her family. They have three kids, 6, 10, and 12. The Dad sounds a little at wits end. Apparently bed times are no longer enforced. He's told the kids to sleep when they're tired. Again, I hope you're all doing okay. Stay safe and keep happy.

Oh, and my daughter's school made a video they sent to all of the students. It was every teacher and most administrators giving words of encouragement, holding up signs of encouragement and even showing off their pets. It was very sweet.

I was reading some funny quarantine quotes on twitter. So many funny ones. I really liked this one:
My young nephew asked his Mom while watching West Side Story “do all gangs dance?” #QuarantineQuotes

Oh, and we bought an electric hair trimmer. I warned my husband that I'd only ever used one to groom animals when I worked at the animal shelter. He took his chances anyway and it turned out okay...or at least well enough that he's not wearing a hat to work!
Who knows what other new skills we'll acquire while this goes on.

We are doing very well thus far but cases are going up dramatically in our county. We made an early morning grocery run today and are set for another couple of weeks. Stores are still very well stocked here. We even found some sanitizing wipes and sanitizer so grabbed some while available. Stay safe and well

Stay safe and well Grocery shopping has become like a treasure hunt where you never know what you're going to find. Thankfully we have most of our meat supply back but I'm never sure what type of fruit I'll find. Last week they had lots of apples but few bananas or berries. For some reason there was almost no milk in the store last week. I haven't been able to find bleach or disinfectant spray or wipes in weeks and finding paper products of any type is still the Holy Grail. I'm heading out for a grocery run tomorrow morning so wish me luck!

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon about the meat. When I first got to the store this morning there was no chicken, very little pork, some beef but no ground beef. When I went back to the meat section before I left they were putting out chicken. The butcher told me they were limiting it to 2 packages per person because what he was putting out was all they had for the day. At least I got my two packages! There was milk and orange juice (yay!), strawberries which will make my daughter very happy, and finally toilet paper! A 20 pack, no less, so we'll be good for a while. And wearing a mask for more than half an hour is uncomfortable. That sounds whiny because I know medical professionals do it every shift but I couldn't wait to get back to my car and take it off! Everyone stay safe.

I got an email today saying that my Rolling Rally that would have gone from May 14 to the 30th for my RV group has been cancelled. Boo!! The State Parks are still open but they have restrictions on going to other peoples sites and meeting up at a fire pit. There is really no point if you can't meet up and have a fire together. I know we need to stay safe so I will wait until we can be close to people again. I had a Zoom meeting today with volunteers for Humane Society. They were thanking their volunteers. I usually bottle feed kittens at our Bottle Baby Nursery. I think it will be awhile until that opens up as we use PPE in the unit to keep the babies safe from infection. They need those PPE's for people at this time. Is there anyone who watched the series The Good Wife? I am watching this on my free month of CBS. They were really addressing many of the issues of the day on this show. I am enjoying watching.

tycho657, yes, I watched The Good Wife when it first aired and even reviewed some of it for TV Fanatic. It's well done and both entertaining and at times frustrating. Here in NJ our state and local parks are all closed. Unfortunately, once NY closed their parks a lot of New Yorkers were coming to NJ and ours got crowded. I have some local parks with beautiful hiking and biking trails that I wish were open right now. Ironically, Pennsylvania has limited park openings but closed their liquor stores so PA residents have been rushing to NJ liquor stores along the state border!

Believe it or not on Long Island most of the parks are open I live near the water and it is open and most people are social distancing, but Long Island is a disaster so many cases I don't like to read the papers any more. I loved Good Wife great series, I hope next month will be better

Our cases jumped big time again yesterday. Outside of Milwaukee County, we have the most cases in the State of Wisconsin. There are 72 counties in our state. Cases and deaths continue to rise and the Republican Legislature and Senate are suing the Governor to open up the State. It's ALL about the politics here and not the people. It's a shame and embarrassing to watch.

Yeah, they haven't updated my county's #s yet today but the state of NJ has over 105,000 cases and over 5,800 deaths. As of yesterday, my county had 2,663 with 203 fatalities.
We know any reopening is going to be taken very slowly and for good reason.
So I ordered my daughter and I masks from Etsy. They are Harry Potter Hufflepuff themed because there's no reason not to try and make this at least a little fun where we can.

Dawn discovered that we had several areas that 'needed' more plants and trim/clear things. We seem to do this every year; but, we never plant annuals. Hum...where do the past years' efforts disappear? Why did the previous owners of this house plant so many egg and baseball size rocks? Those seem to dominate every place that Dawn selects for us to plant something. Still, it was fun although tiring. She certainly picked the right day because it was nice out there; and, today is gentle rain. Stay safe!
