What the heck is Tumblr?

I placed this in FanFiction because the question is based on some of my stories. I received a review for my story "Murphy Was An Optimist" from a person in Germany who said she had seen mention of it in Tumblr. Then someone from here in the US also mentioned Tumblr as how she heard about the story and in the past few days, 5 more people have marked it, or others of mine as a favorite and/or sent reviews.



So what the heck is Tumblr? As many here know, this is my limit for social media. Here, the old 12th and ABC Castle forum's. No Twitter or Facebook or any other electronic forum, so in this regard I am a Luddite.

PS...I know I'm not on here much, the move to VA and now working with my brother in Houston takes a lot of my time. Oh, and doctors. Who the heck ever thought as we get older we need more doctors? I mean, honestly, there are so many doctors now for just about anything. Got a hangnail? There's a doctor for that. Probably an App too.

Glad you're still checking in with us. With the amount of social media sites around, it can definitely get confusing. I don't think anyone can keep up with them all.

Tumblr.com (not Tumblir or Tumbler) basically allows people to have their own mini-blog space. They can post fanfiction stories, videos, photos, pretty much anything they want. Lots of people post their own stories there or repost or talk about fanfiction stories they like and recommend.

I have a tumblr account but simply because it makes it easier for me to check out other people's post. I don't really post much of anything on there but it might be fun to try and search out your stories on the site.

Thanks for the info on Tumblr, sounds just like something I will not get involved with, however for some reason, one of my old stories is bopping around the Tumblr universe so I guess I may still hear from new fans...which is always nice and honestly surprising as it's been a long time since I put finger to keyboard with my muse hanging over my shoulder.

I have once again determined that all work and no play makes RG a dull boy, so tonight I am enjoying a nice Cabernet and actually catching up on personal e-mail.  Yes, I have abandoned my brothers business needs for my own and don't feel a bit bothered by it.  
I can actually reply to my cousin in Göteborg (Gothenburg) Sweden from her December letter!  I feel giddy with excitement!  

Anyway, thanks very much Christine and T, it's an old story and you probably already read it, but feel free to read it again if you want.     Hopefully I can find more time to log in and say hi.
