Well, I'm hoping to FINALLY see the new Star Wars movie tomorrow. Everything seems to have been against me on this. Every time I've tried to plan to see it with my husband, something has gotten in the way. When it didn't happen again this weekend he told me to go see it by myself since I'm the bigger Star Wars fan. So, fingers crossed, I'll be seeing an early show tomorrow while I have some time off.
In other news, my daughter attended her first official slumber party this weekend. She had a great time. The mom said she was one of the last girls to finally fall asleep at 3am which doesn't surprise me as she's a night owl like her parents. Of course, she did come home and take a two hour nap.
Also, my cousin's wedding that I attended in St. Louis in October...the couple just announced they're expected a baby in July!
So what's new for all of you?

Oh, and it was 70 degrees this weekend in NJ! That's crazy...wonderful but crazy.

I think this made national news. Two towns over from me there was a MASSIVE 7 alarm fire on Sunday. It was at an apartment complex that is being built so thankfully there were no residents yet but the fire jumped across Main street to several other buildings where small businesses and residences were pretty much destroyed but at least everyone had been evacuated. We tried to drive through the town today and many of the roads are still blocked off for clean up and investigation.

Wow, I hadn't seen the pics after the fire was out, such devastation. Looks like a LOT of collateral damage. Good that everyone got evacuated.

My goodness! That fire left an immense amount of damage. Thank goodness there was no loss of life. I had a very football kind of weekend, enjoying all 4 of the playoff games. The highlight was my PACKERS winning on Sunday night! WooHoo!!! We're getting small snow events several days this week as well as a return to arctic temps later in the week. My defense? Making homemade soup this afternoon!

We also had temps in the mid 60s this weekend, enough to melt most of our snow/sleet "concrete"....which means I could do paddock cleanup while the ground is bare, albeit pretty muddy. Not exciting, but it's a necessary chore and it was nice to be outside in "warm" weather and think about gardening in the spring, etc. Going out to breakfast with some friends Thursday, debating whether I will go see Little Women which has gotten good reviews, including by my sister whose critiques I pay attention to. Would like to see Judy if it ever comes to theaters here in the 'burbs.

Saw 1917 today. The amazing, seemingly 1 camera perspective really showed the horrors of WWI trench war fare. I was tense the entire movie watching these young men try to do a nearly impossible task. They doubt the intelligence they have but have to keep moving to compete their task to save 1600 men. Amazing movie.
I watched this with my 23 year old son and couldn't help but think what if he were in these circumstances.

To anyone curious about how that fire started, they arrested a man for starting it. They have video of him at the site at the time the fire was set. No one seems to know why he started it yet but if his facebook posts are anything to go by, I don't think he's in his right mind.
In other news, it is crazy windy here today and it sounds like we have snow coming for the weekend.

We're in the deep freeze and about to get pounded with snow. When I left the house this morning it was -9 actual temp and I don't even want to know what the wind chill was! Now we have 6-10 inches of snow coming tomorrow into Saturday, then back down to -10 or worse by Sunday night. January in the Northland!

I am in Quartzite, AZ with 100 other women camping on BLM land. We call this “dry” camping as we do not have electric water or sewer hook ups. The next 2 weeks is the big tent RV show here. This area grows by the thousands for this month. RVers from all over come here for this event. I think this will be a 2 kitty snuggle few days at night. They do a great job of getting on the bed early to warm up where my feet go. If I get up in the night one of them usually snuggles down where I lay so it is still nice and warm when I return. I love my kitties😻💕🔥

tycho657, My one cat, Bugsy, used to sleep ON my feet or legs which was a bit of a problem since he was a big boy and weighed about 20 lbs! If I got up to use the bathroom he would escort me to the door and wait outside the bathroom and then escort me back to bed. I miss him.

We are supposed to go to a wedding in Madison, WI tomorrow which is normally about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here. We are waiting til tomorrow morning to see how bad it gets then will decide what to do. It's my niece's son who is getting married. I talked to my sister yesterday and we wondered why get married in WISCONSIN in the middle of JANUARY?? My niece is not a happy camper right now but it was the young couples decision!! LOL but aren't families fun?? We feel bad but will probably not go. I just watched local weather and they are saying dangerous travel conditions for tomorrow with high winds and blowing snow.

Right Geezer! They're advising no travel at all tomorrow here. It could be a nightmare so it's better to be safe!

Our younger son is a doctor in an orthopedic group just outside St. Paul, MN [Woodbury]. He says that Monday will be a mad-house in the clinic. We are forecast to get a bit of snow here in western Virginia [Winchester]. However, that will be an improvement over the amazingly windy conditions here the past few days. Stay safe and warm!
