Ummm, with all due respect, I would love to have some peace here without jumping to presumptuous suppositions and inducing angst among us. We won't know until the show gets underway. If I eat my words, so be it, but I am dismissing this as not Castle. I think TPTB understand that a good bit of the fandom has had it *up to here* with craziness of the undesirable kinds. We don't know what's going to happen. I'm taking any kind of information with a grain of salt. As I always have. Time will tell, and we'll meet every circumstance as it comes. Not going to allow anything to steal my Castle joy.

The moment I saw that I knew the fandom would go crazy. I think it's actually written to incite Castle fans but I have a hard time believing that the new showrunners would mess with the core of the show, which is the love story between Castle and Beckett. That said, I did tweet Chad Creasey, Alexi Hawley, and Terence Paul Winter to see if they would either confirm or deny the rumor. We'll see if they respond.
Until we hear something concrete from a reliable source, I have no doubt that many in the fandom will fear the worst.

I am always hopeful that our show will continue with the core story that we have grown to love. This guy always likes to stir things up. I just wanted to post this so we would know it's out there but we should remain hopeful for good results from our new show runners.

Well, it was mentioned that Castle will be spending time with a female cop....But if Simon says the two are married with 3 kids than we have to believe it...oh, that was Marlowe's storyline.....believe me, nothing surprises me anymore....Castle is like the toy that the kids tear apart and put back together.....but lets not go nuts here ABC.... All I have to say is "6x23".....stop it already!!!! The story was built on the love affair, so who else can it be? Bones?

The comments on these blind items on TV Line get me. They almost always insist that whatever it is it's Bones or Castle. Then no one seems to read prior posts since the exact same reasoning is posted over & over. There are a lot of "aging" network dramas that that have established couples. No to mention "aging" could mean anything - 3 seasons? 8? His use of that term seems to vary.

My attitude is wait and see. I find it REALLY hard to believe that they would mess with the one thing(Rick & Kate) that has made this show so popular and driven us ALL a little nuts for 7 years. What could they possibly hope to gain with such a twist???

I'm not going there. Just recently, Nathan commented in an interview in Australia that he's excited by what the new show runners bring to the table and he said he is confident that they both know what makes the show what it is - Castle and Beckett working together and the characters being basically happy.

There are at least 22 episodes, provided they last the year, and it would be unfathomable that they would take an entire season to patch up a marriage on the rocks. These are still newlyweds for crying out loud. No one would want to put up with that garbage. Ms Kat, you are right that the viewing audience would not stand for it and leave in droves before, as we say, "The Seventh Inning Stretxh". Lets have some fun and say it is McGarrett and Williams on 50. They might as well be a married couple. Or Jane and Lisbon on The Mentalist....ooppps, my bad, already gone. LOL |

I can see shaking things up, but not of this sort. You're right. A mass exodus and therefore leading to Castle's demise. I'd bet on it. I'm having hope in the new show-runners and writers; renewed hope is a wonderful thing. And I'm ready for some fun. Drama and angst is okay, just not lasting more than one episode. Some of that is necessary, but not of entire-season-proportions! LoL! Of course, I"m fully aware that this is out of my hands, but a girl can continue to dream that when it's all said & done, Castle & Beckett will have their happy ending. I'm choosing to believe that the TPTB have their fingers on the pulse of "us". Their fandom. And that the change, in every respect, is going to be good. I'm a hopeless romantic, so I'm choosing to believe in and have hope.  |
