Cute idea for an article. As a teacher I heard many names over the years. The ones that drove me crazy were names that were spelled normally but the parent decided on pronouncing the name in a very unique and different way. The poor kid was destined to forever have to correct people.

I have a relative who named her daughter, Temperance, after the Bones character. I asked if her nickname was Bones!

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. If this article does well then we may do a series of them highlighting names from different, popular shows.

My husband named his daughter Kira after the Olivia Newton-John character in the movie Xanadu. OMG! I was just thinking about Xanadu recently. I remember seeing it in a drive-in movie with my family when I was a kid when roller skating was all the rage. I've been thinking about tracking it down and show it to my daughter because I haven't seen it in decades. Also, I love the name Kira. I'd completely forgotten it was connected to this movie.
