Hmmm, perhaps Kate is busy acclimating to her new position? It will be interesting to see how this new dynamic plays out. Given how skeptical I was of the PI storyline, and then how amusing the outcomewas, I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt. Granted, I've been burned before (cough, cough, Castle's disappearance, cough), we've got new people at the helm who deserve a chance.

And the previous reports were that Hayley was the "fractional" recurring character, meaning she won't be in every episode. Probably just a handful during the season. So how much time could Castle really be spending with her? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

So how much time could Castle really be spending with her? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's called stirring the mustard pot....I kinda figured this was coming. ABC will be walking a very tight line here, but one they feel needs to be explored. How does Rick do on his own out in the field, or in the precinct working on theory with this new female character. Why not team her with a real cop....well, Kate is probably that other cop. In, I am guessing in Captain Beckett's eyes ( Seriously, it wouldn't be done unless Kate was Captain cause NYPD would never go for it any other way), it may be the only way to keep an eye on her. If you wanted to create a fun and compelling storyline, or play the jealously, or in this case, Rick's "Vulnerability" card here is your chance. Always comical and sometimes painful depending on the circumstances. Don't think for one second Kate won't see it. It's a scenario that needs to be played out, but why would Rick even consider this? Because of course, it will be Kate's idea. |

Is it at all possible that this Hayley works for Black Pawn and not the NYPD? I'm pretty sure that the NYPD does not need to hire outside security consultants for a precinct. They certainly didn't need one when Gates took over. It seems more likely that since both Alexis' abduction to Paris, followed by Rick's abduction by "unknown individuals" and his being held hostage on more than one occasion over the years (most recently by 3XK) it would not be out of the question for Black Pawn to want to protect their investment. That would certainly explain why Rick would be spending time with her. |
