Behind the Scenes of Castle "Still"

It was the anniversary of the Castle episode "Still" and Rob Hanning tweeted about how the concept came together.

improv.

#Still Production budgeted 2 days to shoot the new material. When it became clear to me we couldn’t make that, I went to @andrewwmarlowe
with the dire news. I was apparently so alarmed and upset, he started calling me Bomb Squad Captain. It took almost 4 shoot days. #Castle #BTS

would let us waste that in a clip show. It was one of the only times I’ve ever known her to be wrong #Castle #BTS

pulled clips, he and I came up with different categories to put them in. It was around these “buckets” that the flashback device took shape: Castle as “Bomb Buddy”— a male Scheherazade (Arabian Nights) using storytelling to ward off death. #Castle #BTS

Thanks for catching this tweet! We all realized that this was a special episode. The ILY was noticed by the Castle fans but not by the casual viewer. If you watch that scene take note that as Castle walks out you can see Kate’s lips finish with “Always”. 
I loved the information about the beginning latte scene. I like to believe I had a small part in this happening. When Rob was a guest at the Castle Con I was walking with him down the hall taking him to where they were going to do autographs. I asked him if he could do me a favor and put “something” in the coffee cups. It was so obvious when Kate walked back to Castle in his shirt with the 2 coffee cups in “The morning after”, that they were empty. You carry an empty cup differently than a full one. After that they started putting flat soda and other things in the coffee cups. The person they hired to make the fancy designs in the latte owes me a nod😍

At one time I heard...somewhere...that 'Still' was ready to go but was pulled after the Boston Marathon bombing. Episodes were shuffled and 'Still' was delayed a few weeks that season. Was that true or was it misinformation [also know as 'Larry is confused']?

An online daily posting about ''Castle'' by Small Screen Smackdown had this about 'Still' near the end of the posting on 29APR2019. The episode was on TV six years ago.  I thought this posting was nicely done.
