Bring it on! I've thoroughly enjoyed how the writers have used Will's relationship with Emma to show him how to navigate being with a competent and independent woman, seemingly preparing him to be better at it when he and Frankie hook up (I hope!). It's also provided a way for Frankie to see what it would be like to be in a relationship with Will. An example would be at the close of last week's episode when Frankie told Jai that she respects Will even more because he's told Emma everything.
Having said all of that though, I don't want Emma to be a long term presence in the show. I think it will give both Will and Frankie another chance to grow if they got through a breakup situation. One of the things I absolutely adored about this last episode was the many times when it was apparent that, despite Will being in a relationship with Emma, Frankie is the one who really knows him and she's the one he depends on. They have truly become partners and will soon realize that they complete each other. Now I'm not saying that that automatically means they hook up. In fact, after last week, I'm suspicious that the unexpected hookup mentioned in the spoiler, might just be between Ray and Susan.
I'd sure like to know what others think about Ray after last week. On one hand, they played up the new male friend that Tina hooked him up with, but they also have shown Ray and Susan having some very real conversations. The other hookup that it could mean is Standish and Tina. Scott Foley's wife, who plays Tina, is supposed to be in 6 of the episodes and so far, she's only been in 2, so she'll be around a while.
I'm just going to be CRUSHED if this show doesn't get renewed!
